Breaking - NCAA to give out 6 #1 seeds, too many #1 seed quality B1G teams

Seton Hall is ahead of Ole Miss

Seton Hall is 13-12 (10-9) in a league worse than the SEC. They are 3-7 vs Q1 and 3-4 vs Q2 - 6-11 overall vs Q1/Q2. Seton Hall has lost 4 straight games, including games to 9-12 Georgetown, 9-14 Butler, and 13-12 St Johns.

Ole Miss is 15-10 (10-8). They are 3-4 vs Q1 and 5-4 vs Q2 - 8-8 overall vs Q1/Q2. Ole Miss has won 7 of 9 including wins over Tennessee and Missouri 2x.

Ole Miss is #50 in KenPom. Seton Hall is #53 in KenPom.

That's just ridiculous.

If they suck so much that they can't even beat themselves then they have no place in the tournament.

Ole Miss deserves at least a play in game though.

If Ole Miss beats South Carolina and LSU I can't see how they get left out - unless there are 2-3 bid stealers out there.

So does it mean that the Big 10 is super deep that the team that's 9th place in the conference beat all of the top 3 teams or does it mean that the top 3 teams in the conference are overrated?

I don't know but I can guarantee B1G fans would never trot out an SEC Football argument to defend their basketball conference no sir no way sir.

Iowa and Ohio State also both lost to Minnesota who is 13th place in the conference.

I am thinking that the Big 10 is gonna be exposed a bit in the NCAAT.

I think so as well.

We already have seen Mizzou beat Illinois. We know the Big 12 is good and we battled them toe to toe.

I think the Big Ten is a little overrated.

I honestly don't really know. I think Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan are pretty damn good (post-COVID Michigan has struggled, though). I'm not sure how good Purdue, Wisconsin, Ohio State, etc are. And I'm pretty sure Michigan State, Maryland, and Rutgers are just ok.

It's a really good league, but it also gets the same self-sustaining roundabout arguments that SEC football gets (but without actually winning any hardware).

Random other college basketball note, but has anyone paid attention to how horrid Washington is?

Boeheim's old assistant Mike Hopkins has signed like 4 McDonald's All Americans there and it has not mattered at all. They have absolutely cratered the last 2 seasons.

15-17 (5-13) in 2020

5-20 (4-16) in 2021 (in an AWFUL Pac 12)

It depends on if you are a fan of the league or not

And they looked pretty good in his second year too so its a little more confusing. I remember he was kind of an outside guy I wanted for the Arkansas job two years ago.

They actually started well the beginning of last year. Beat Baylor and played Zaga well. Then lost 8 straight PAC 12 games.

The Pac-12 is weird. Several of their programs sign a bunch of talent, but goddamn do they fricking suck at basketball in spite of it.

It's been a pretty terrible league at this point for going on 20 years. They were a couple of years there when Stanford was good and UCLA was good with Howland where it was a really good league, but outside of that, it's just been a disaster.

I actually think that some of their teams are going to surprise in the tournament. I don't think the league is good as a whole but I don't think the top half or so of the league is that bad.

Agree with you - USC and Colorado are teams that I have no desire to deal with.

Mobley is an absolute monster.
