Chol Macot

I have no idea what kind of price tag he's going to command, but I really like this kid. Very athletic for a 7 footer, averaged almost 3 stocks last season, and his shot is surprisingly natural looking. I wish we could afford him, Freeman, and Dak. That's a long, extremely disruptive front court rotation.

I mean, surely it wouldnt be a huge bag, kid barely played even in garbage time. But, he is an athletic 7'1 kid who spent the year practicing against several NBA level bigs.

Does anyone know if we are going after Cole Cloer from NC State? I believe we finished second with him as well.

Maybe. I mean I like the idea if the price is right. It's also why I like Dak and Machot. If you're going to play all the drop coverage we do you have to have long, disruptive wings and bigs and the best place to start is an athletic 7 footer with a big wingspan. The trouble is just that those guys usually cost a lot and convincing them that they can show off for scouts in a system that never runs the offense through them isn't always going to be easy even though it's true.

I’m not so sure this is going to be as cut and dry as a lot of people think it is

Those two felonies are a killer. I hope somehow he can skate past them and play for us next season.

The only thing is if the DA doesn’t want to deal, these circuit court cases can drag out a LONG time, he’s not even going to be arraigned til June. Who knows when a trial would be. I think you at least have to have a backup plan

First conviction, non violent crime, actively enrolled high profile student making a lot of money with no reason to expect that they are a danger to the public or likely to make a criminal mistake again.

This will get plead down. He will, at most, be hit with a suspended sentence is my guess

He’s already been allowed back on campus. He’s been given permission to leave the state. Can enroll and play while the court process is taking place if need be. Being on trial for a low level crime doesn’t preclude someone from being able to continue about their life.

Yeah. I’m out on Sherrell and ready to move on. People nailed it that he obviously had one foot out the door mid season. I want the guys who want to be here.

We pay competitively and we develop players better than anyone he has on that list(unless you want to count what Duke does as development). We’ll win without him.

It's hard to find 6'10''-7'0'' guys, so in that respect Sherrell leave is tough.

However, you could probably count the number of great games he's had in two seasons on two hands maybe even one. He plays like he wishes he were 6'4'' instead of almost 7ft. He's softer than baby shite both in terms of physical presence on defense and how he plays at the rim on offense.

Right now I'm hoping our medical redshirt big men both stick around and the reason we couldn't name his number is that we just simply didn't think he was worth that investment with two other capable bigs already on the roster.

He may have realized he doesnt have much of an NBA future because of his lack of athleticism, so trying to get the bag now.

Nevermind that he would be athletic, if he would drop the weight.

He has an NBA future if he gets in shape and plays the 4 position. I don’t want to lose him, but Mike Malone is a decent fit as a coach. We asked him to play 5 all year. We were extremely limited there hence the Bediako experiment.

He could be great here, too, if we rotate between 4 and 5. We desperately need a 5 to give him flexibility between positions. Granted, still has to put the work in to get in shape.

He is not a good athlete and a guy 3 inches shorter than him jumped center. Does anyone really think he is an NBA player

We've seen Sherrell playing the 4 and it sucked shite. He's not quick enough on his feet to be on the perimeter as much as a 4 will have to be these days. The only thing he adds to a team on defense is his ability to time up shot blocks. He's not physical enough to hold up in post defense. He's too slow to be isolated on a guy on the perimeter.

He'd at least have a great college player ceiling if he'd rebound better and finish in a crowd around the rim better.

NBA? This dude may get a 2-way contract because you can't teach size but his future is probably Europe or China.
