I think Oats likes to play a lot of 3 guard lineups at times. Not usually as the starting lineup but during spurts, especially if we are shooting well. This year we try to play Allen as one of those 3 guards along with Biz and whoever is shooting best. Garrison can be a rim runner with that setup.
To me Jemison is the x factor for this group. I am hoping he takes a Herb Jones like role. If he can be a defensive stopper and a guy who makes the smart play on offense, then he will be earning major minutes. If he is still making freshman mistakes and turning the ball over, then he will get passed over by guys like Samuels and Richardson.

No doubt that Allen and Jemison sliding down to 3 and 4 respectively is something we will see a lot of in 26-27.

I think we'll see Richardson surpass Jemison on the starting lineup eventually. Richardson's explosiveness and athletic ability to play above the rim might be too tough to sit. Then again, Oats has given starter minutes to players coming off the bench before, so who knows. I do know at the EYBL, Richardson averaged 7 rebounds per game. If he can crash the glass, then I think he'll start. Good problem to have.

Jemison had a 9.7% turnover rate, 4th best on the team.

Oh im not saying he is a turnover machine. But if he starts he will have the ball in his hands a lot more and he will need to make good decisions.
Personally I see Jemison as a breakout player for us. But I could be wrong. I think his defensive ability will earn him a lot of minutes. He just needs to be able to execute as a cog in the offense.

That wingspan should be able to poke some balls loose on the perimeter. Forcing turnovers is huge for Oats system. When we get a few easy buckets, the efficiency goes through the roof.

Chauvinistic Pig, Richardson getting 7 rebounds a game sounds a lot like Allen last year being our top rebounder. With two guys on the wing who can rebound like that, we could be big trouble for lots of teams. I think we will be tough to beat around the perimeter.

Definitely fixes a huge issue from last season. Still need two of our bigs to show they can not get pushed around inside and grab boards. I don't foresee Fielder being a strong presence inside, so that leaves Garrison and Fleming.

I hope Fielder turns out being what we all hoped Noah Williamson would be. A competent stretch 4 who could score and occasionally play a little 5.
God bless Noah he played hard and flashed a little in the tournament, but he wasn't good enough to be at Alabama.
Don't totally discount Collins Onyejiaka, thats a large young man hopefully he will develop and be able to give us some minutes.

He seemed to me to be the tallest person at Coleman every game this year. The guy at Florida is taller but Ony towarded over everyone on our bench.

I completely forgot about this young man. He absolutely will play. If I remember, in limited action, he didn't show to have many post moves or much of an offensive game. But he can play good D. He had a big block vs St Johns.

We just need big bodies to give us a chance to match up with the Floridas Michigans and others better then we have.
Had Bama shot the ball as well vs Michigan as they did the previous game that could have been an interesting game down the stretch.Not saying we win but they have to sweat it.

For sure. 6'6 wingspan for a guy that's 6'1 is exceptional. Assuming he adjusts well to the speed and physicality of the SEC, i'm pretty excited to see what he can do as an on-ball defender. I love that he's from the Bronx too.

I was just looking on Kenpom..
All 3 of the BigMen Oats brought in from the portal were ranked nationally in oreb%.... and Fielder and Garrison were both also ranked in defensive rebound%. Its obvious what Oats prioritized this offseason.
