Richardson strikes me as a type of player I've been begging for us to find for 3 seasons now: a wing forward who can play "above the rim" and projects to be a good defender if he commits to it.

His offensive game is pretty limited right now...not much of a shooter. However, you've got to think the son of a good 3pt shooter in the NBA will come around on that front. However, I still think he comes off the bench a lot next year because he is likely to be a great rebounder and defender.

You have been begging for someone who is not a shooter?

He needs to become an adequate one but I think the fact that we haven’t had anyone on the perimeter who can rise through contact instead of trying to finagle a scoop layup is something we’ve been missing on offense.

Isnt that part of Nate's O. Drive with the hopes you get a foul. Then we miss the front end of a one and one. Duh.

F those two break our way, then you are looking at: - Holloway - Allen - Jemison That’s 3 returning starters, and two primary ball-handlers. Throw in Bristow and hopefully the kid from Boise State along with the size already signed, and that’s a MUCH stronger roster on paper compared to this time a year ago when Philon and Holloway/Wrightsell (off the bench) were the only known commodities

Torvik has our roster currently ranked 12th….with Biz and Amari.(Haven’t checked since Davion entered the portal) And I think people are underestimating how good our freshman could be. I think all 3 are legit players who will play and play well.

Edit: Ranked 15th post Hannah news

Agreed. It's a big reason we struggle to score inside against teams like UTk and UF. If the defense has a bunch of big goons in the paint you're not getting a whistle unless you force them to body you at the rim. Trying to finesse the ball in plays into their hands. You have to have a few guys who can throw the hammer down either off a drive, cut, or lob.

Tony Mitchell without the shitty attitude and inconsistent motor would be a great outcome for Richardson.

Exactly what I am suggesting. If we want to have better success against teams that want to sit in the paint with 1 or 2 goons then we need someone who can force the issue and get decent shots off through body contact at the rim.

Crazy to think none of our transfers worked out and we made the Sweet 16. I would've put good money against that happening.

spin off - how many games do you think you've seen in Coleman and since what year?

My parents were lugging me to go games in the early 70's when i was 2-3 (Born in '70). I definitely remember going since about '77. A 100 games? It's hard to count over the years.

Kinda there with you . I can remember going to football and basketball games since ‘77 or ‘78 but I haven’t been to 100 games in Coleman I don’t think .. a lot but not that many

They played one of their worst halves in the postseason in the first half and still were only down 2. They pretty much handled us the entire 2nd half. We had a 2 point lead with 12 minutes to go against UConn in 2024, which was better than what we had in Chicago. I was at both games, and even with the lead at half I only gave us a 20% chance of winning. Everyone in the stands could tell Mich wasn’t playing well other than making wide open, warmup style 3s. As soon as we cooled off from 3 (which some of us called due to 2nd half tired legs), it was over. We weren’t winning that game. We didn’t have the front court.
.

Bama shot 39 % Michigan shot 50%
Bama was 9 -24 on threes and was 8-15
Michigan was +5 on the boards
Looks like bama was playing one of their worst games of the post season.

First half of their game with Connecticut they shot 37% and was 0-8 on three's

You usually play a bad game against a better team. They were better, much.

We shot 30% from 3 and 36 overall. They shot 50% overall and 48% from 3 and won by 13. Bring those to something realistic and you get a single digit game.

Since when does Tennessee have the NIL to sign a top 4 portal class? They've got commitments from 4 guards in the top 50. Also why do all these guards keep going to places where they aren't guaranteed starting minutes? Barnes isn't going to regularly play a 4 guard lineup.
