Barber really hurt this class. Then the fact that our backup plan at point who had been labeled a late signee committing the same day as what was our primary target, is some flatout shitty luck. Can't believe that then I would've been a little disappointed had Powell picked us. That day goes down as the worst day I've ever experienced following bball recruiting.

Poop. Did the 7-10 days come from Johnson, or is that just what they think?
From Johnson's mom. A teammate is announcing Thursday, and they want to do theirs a different day, so looking at a day or two after.
From one of the BOL recruiting guys, "Better than 30% chance. We touched on it in Nuggets, but 2 sources close to different programs recruiting Johnson felt it was UA heading into the Marquette visit. Not sure I'd be confident enough to take UA over the field, but if picking one, it would be UA."

Well that's good news, just not great.

Here's an article he did with Zagoria: LINK

Sounds like Mom is going to be helping him make a decision, which probably helps us. Tuscaloosa is a relatively short drive from Memphis. Miami and Milwaukee not so much.

I was asked the other day to send a friend of mine some good videos of Bama commits/targets. Figured I might as well post them on here as well.
Shannon Hale: Not much gametape of him on youtube, but since we all know of his deadly midrange and 3pt stroke, here's some display of his athleticism. Hes in the latter half of the highlights.
Jimmie Taylor: This shows his incredible length and defense down low. Unfortunately it also shows how unfluid and deliberate some of his offensive moves look.
Jajuan Johnson: Here you can see where Telep got the Jeremy Lamb comparison from. Deceivingly athletic, excellent shooter, and crafty finisher to go with it.
Jarrell Martin: Surprisingly, for a top 15 prospect there's not much of him on Youtube. This was the only highlight video of him, but there is also a video of him doing an in-game between-the-legs dunk. Intensity, blue-collar effort on the boards, and extreme athleticism would describe his game best.
Troy Williams: IMO Troy is the player with the most upside of any player we have went after in this class, including his teammate Barber. Main problem with this kid is consistency. In this video you see his overall bball ability highlighted by his athleticism. Good shooter, but this kid primarily lives around the rim.
Rysheed Jordan: Athleticism is Jordan's best quality as well. In the video the thing that sticks out to me with him is his spin move which is just unbelievably deadly. Don't think we have a shot in hell with him though.

I liked the way that article sounded. I usually try not to over-analyze recruit talk, but I certainly liked what he said about Bama being family in Greg's article after our visit more. Heck I even liked what he said about Bama in that article more than what he said about Marquette or Miami. Maybe I'm over-thinking it but I liked the way that article sounded.

I agree with this. I think/hope distance plays a factor. Plus we do have plenty of playing time for him available. I only see good reasons to choose us. He'll get on the court and his family can come watch as many games as they want to.

Two sources confirmed to TideSports.com Monday afternoon that Alabama feels it is in good shape to land its third commitment for the 2013 class. Miami remains the Crimson Tide's toughest competition for Johnson, and he hasn't been shy about talking about how much he likes the Hurricanes. Still, Alabama appears to be the team to beat according to sources.

Splendid. Surprises me to hear Miami is still our main competition though.

I still think Marquette is.

I agree, but I was more afraid of them getting a commitment while JJ was on campus. My hopes are already up though now, so I might need someone to hide the sharp objects during his announcement...just in case

Big bird I don't think you were on here yet, or might've been lurking, but I helped Bryant out about 2 or 3 weeks before Pollards announcement that he had filed papers to attend Bama, and I'm sure you remember Bryant so that being said we should know within a couple days at the most middle of next week, will likely be Friday or sometime over the weekend though

I started posting on here a month or so before that. I remember your posts and they were all right on with Pollard. From the looks of it your sources are correct again. I just cant get myself to celebrate it until its official. Keep the inside info coming.

Pollard also filed papers to attend Georgetown, Texas, and Missouri.

Me either. Been burned too many times. Pollard started the healing process and then Barber deciding he wanted to go play for that piece of shite Gottfried re-opened the wound.

That was the shittiest day ever...
Anyone know what the TideSports Jajuan Johnson article said?

It was what I posted. There weren't any quotes from Johnson or his mom. It was just Suttles stating what his sources told him.

Compliance office at Bama got the one with his signature, now it's been a while but if I remember correctly everything was done before hand since he pretty much had to commit then enroll right after I believe
