I think that's right. Not ideal, but all 10 should be contributors.

Tusc was right...Eblen is forgoing his senior year of eligibility.
Told you Bryant. Best news I've heard in a long long time.

Wish we couldve brought in a big man with that scholarship

quote:Why is this good news? It's too late to use his scholarship for someone else. At least he could be counted on for his defense in a pinch. He has plenty of SEC experience. I'm not saying it's a big loss, but it's definitely not good news.

But as others have said in this thread, he's not one of our best defenders even. And then you're stuck playing 5 on 4 on offense. And you have to keep releford in the game anyway when he's in there because he can't get the ball up the floor. He's a liability, even as a back up. That grant won't be tempted to put him in the game because he likes the kid makes this good news. Eblen, who seems like a nice enough guy, was terrible at basketball. Retin has had a redshirt year. Lacey, Steele, and Levi can bring the ball up the court when releford is out if needed. Eblen had no role with this team.

Pretty much this.
Eblen just doesn't do anything as well as or better than the other guards. He wasn't going to play this year unless we were up by 30.

This is from Eric Bossi:
* A five-star point guard with quickness and elusiveness off the dribble, Anthony Barber is also a bit elusive to track down for interviews. However, it looks like the product of Hampton (Va.) High is in the process of getting his official visits set up. At the moment, it looks like he'll be on the move each of the first three weekends of September with visits tentatively set up (but not set in stone) to N.C. State, Louisville and Kansas. The other finalist, Alabama, received an unofficial visit in June but a date for an official hasn't been set.
* Speaking of Alabama, Anthony Grant and his staff have been busy on Thursday. The Crimson Tide hosted an unofficial visit from class of 2013 four-star small forward Troy Williams. Class of 2015 teammates Austin Grandstaff and Elijah Thomas were also on campus. Grandstaff is a 6-foot-4 combo guard, while Thomas stands at 6-foot-8 and plays power forward.
Maybe Barber is saving our visit for last.

This is from Louisville's scout site: Barber told Cardinal Authority that he has three of four visits set up and confirmed his visit to the Louisville campus will be Sept. 7-9. He will head to North Carolina State on Sept. 1 and Alabama on Sept. 18. He’s also considering Kansas.
