Xavier Rathan-Mayes cut us from his list according to Evan Daniels.

Yep. I think he was always a pipe dream.

@YungBoiMayes: My top 5 are Baylor, FSU, Uconn, Illinois and Texas no specific order

I guess our top targets for the 2/3 are Troy Williams and JaJuan Johnson.

Give one of those Barber or Pookie and J. Martin and we good to go. Preferably J. Johnson.

@jerrymeyer247: @Bryant91092 Possibly. Have to cover your bases, though. Think Alabama feels good about Anthony Barber.

This is from Evan Daniels in reference to JaJuan Johnson:

quote:

Coming off a strong summer, Jajuan Johnson, Scout.com’s No. 31 prospect in the 2013 class, narrowed his list of schools. “It’s been going good,” Johnson said of his recruiting process. “I’m trying to narrow down my five.” “I basically have my five of Alabama, Memphis, Louisville, Texas and Miami,” the Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind standout said.

quote:

“I’m taking my visits throughout the season,” Johnson said. “I have three planned right now. I’m going to Miami September 15, Texas for October 6th and I’m going to be planning my visit to Alabama real soon.”

I asked this to Evan Daniels: Now that he seems to be a bit down on Memphis, would you call Louisville his leader? Do you think Alabama has a good shot of landing him?

Here's what he said: Actually, no I'm not sold Louisville is in great shape. They already have a two guard in Anton Gill on board. Think Alabama could sneak in here.

Saw Pollard walking to class today. He's even taller than I expected but man is he thin.

@Justinbyerly
Alabama commit Shannon Hale, a 6'7, 2013 out of Christ School (NC) will take his official visit on September 21st-22nd

So he'll be here visiting at the same time Barber will. I'm sure Taylor will be here as well that weekend.

I think he's saying that because at camps, Hale was measure at 6'9, right?

I mean, if that is the case they aren't accurately reporting his height, but the measurements a recruiting service use aren't going to impact the player we are getting one way or the other.

I suppose if he is a legit 6'9" it might help him get a bump in rankings or something. Lots of 6'6"- 6'7" guys with his skill set. Not so many 6'9"-6'10" guys.

I thought I remembered us discussing this a while ago. Here's the official height and weigh in from the Amare Stoudemire skills camp: LINK

Jimmie Taylor 6’9.5/221 with a wingspan of 7’5.5

Shannon Hale 6’8.5/209 with a wingspan of 6’10

*Note: height was measured with shoes, weight was done without shoes

I remember being pretty shocked at Taylor's wingspan. I knew he had long arms, but that's Anthony Davis freaky.

I get sad when I look at the SEC recruiting board and don't see a new post in this thread.

This is from Kansas's Rivals site:

"I'm just looking to see the school and see how I like it," Barber told Jayhawk Slant on Wednesday afternoon. "I just want to take it all in and see what I will be getting myself into if I do decide to attend Kansas. I want to see the campus, the team, the coaches and things like that."

Barber, who is scheduled to arrive in Lawrence on Friday and will return home to Hampton on Sunday, has always expressed a high amount of interest in the University of Kansas. In fact, many believe that Kansas and Alabama are the teams to beat for the five-star point guard.

However, official visits to Louisville, N.C. State and Alabama will likely take place before a final decision is made.
