This is the same kid we went after in 2012. He reclassified. A little surprised by this though. Haven't seen him play much, but only way I thought we'd take a chance on another PF in this class is if he was a stud. CAG really likes William Lee for 2014. Stockpiling two PFs the class before him can't help his recruitment. Thought we'd go for a best available thought process with that last scholarship. CAG must really like this kid.

Well he did blow up at the end of last year and rose a lot in the rankings so he is pretty good.

In an espn article Alabama got some props...I think...and was ranked #2 in the nation in recruiting over-acheiving. They do take a stab at us and mention we haven't won a tournament game in the past 5 years, but that should change soon.

@JoshPaunilNRS: Vandy leads for '13 PF Damian Jones. Will take an official at the end of August & an official at Stanford [who his mom likes] September 15.

Can't blame him. He's definitely putting academics first.

I think Grant is going to have a very solid class. Hopefully you guys don't steal Martin

It'll be very tough for us to land Martin. Maybe we can hook his coaches and parents up with jobs

Is UT openly recruiting him? Not very nice if so

I have seen the above comment, along with a few others of a similar nature. Are you people really complaining about a college coach recruiting a committed player?

Hopefully it is sarcasm, because virtually every coach does it in every sport, including yours.

We are super serial about it when it comes to basketball. Some coaches may recruit committed players, but I'm hopeful ours do not. Not recruiting a committed basketball player is kinda the unwritten rule for most coaches.

Does anyone know where we stand with Jarquez Smith? I didn't realize we offered until a few moments ago.

If I remember correctly, Dan McDonald told me it'd be an UGA/FSU battle for him. That was a couple months ago though. I really wouldn't have a problem with taking any of the big guys we've been mentioned with. They are all top 100 talent.

I tweeted that guy about the list he gave for Jones. Here's what he said back: @icuplay: @Bryant91092 Yesterday its was Vandy& Stanford today it's LSU & Alabama. He's a very smart kid. And yes Vandy & Stanford are hi on his list

ETA: I looked at Smith's profile and Dan has an article from July 22nd with Smith stating that FSU and UGA were the top two.

Not sure. He barely has any followers but claims to write for that xofan place which is an okay recruiting site.
