Ben had a role on the team and he played it well. If he is done then best of luck to him.
Being a mediocre defender, with absolutely no offensive game, and a turnover machine against press defense was his role?
And all this time I just thought he had pictures of Grant and his mistress stored away.

His role was to relieve Trevor for a few minutes a game and not screw it up. I didn't realize seven tournovers on the season made a machine. He turned it over a lot in 2010 - 2011, but no more than any other player on the team. Not every player on the court is meant to light it up offensively.

Of course not every player is meant to light it up offensively, but Ben does nothing well at this level.
He is not a high major caliber player, and if he's transferring and getting 0 minutes, that's a good thing for us.

Though he could and should have been more respectful about it, hes right. Eblen isn't a high-major player and apart from being a very good full-court pressure defender there wasn't any part of his game that was up to the high-major level of play. The kid worked his arse off on the court for the team, and I can always respect that. Wish him the best of luck at wherever he decides to go.

Glad he is gone and im not going to act like im dissapointed. He did nothing for the team that any one of us who has a little basketball skill couldnt had did.

Grant was out watching Jarrell Martin today.

I'm not saying you should lie, but there is always a way to be respectful when stating your opinion. Like I said, he worked his arse off, which is something that cant be said about some of our past players. Yea, the kid didn't have talent and often caused problems for us on both sides of he ball, but he gave it his all whenever he was called on.

One its not like im saying it to his face. Second, what makes you think he has worked his arse off. I mean that kid hasnt got any better at all.

I'm talking about the way he carries himself on the court. I, like you, don't have visual proof of how hard he works in practice or in the off-season, but being as limited in skills as he is, what other reason would Grant have to play him at all if he isn't hustling in practice?

I honestly think it had something to do with giving Retin more than anything. I really dont know what it is but no way that kid is better than Retin. I dont think CAG wanted to waste a redshirt on Retin. If T. Lacey never gets hurt we wouldnt had seen Eblen IMHO.

Here's a small excerpt from rivals on Damian Jones
quote:
The Titans' other Jones, 6-foot-9 center Damien Jones, also had a nice outing in front of the cameras and college coaches on Thursday. The athletic shotblocker produced several highlight plays by attacking the basket from the high post, and running the floor hard, to lead to two-handed throw-downs above the rim. Jones, ranked No. 101 in the 2013 Rivals150, has great length for a shotblocker, is quick off of his feet, and has that high running motor that coaches love in a defensive stopper. Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings and Alabama head man Anthony Grant were among those who watched Jones play on Thursday evening.

@jeffborzello: Rashawn Powell finished with 47 in his team's loss to DC Assault. Was fouling at the end down by 20 in order to get the ball back to score.
Anthony Grant was in attendance.

The rampant rumors surrounding Shannon Hale and Tennessee continue. It is our understanding that a decision will likely come by the end of the weekend after Shannon sits down with his father. His father is very adamant that he keep his word, but the fact that a coaching change (Pearl to Martin) has occurred since the commitment could give him an "out".
quote:
I never got the impression that Tennessee was in love with him in the first place after the new staff got here last spring.
Could be bad news on the JW3 front. He's not remotely close to being in the same league as Nichols or Williams III. I wouldn't think they would fall all over themselves to do it unless it looks like they might miss out on others.
VolQuest
What, if anything, have your mods said about this situation?
This is apparently where this all originated fwiw
ETA: Please tell me they squashed it.

I've heard nothing about it. It'd be pretty shady for Martin to have recruited a committed player though.

But there are a lot of reasons I hope this is not true. Do you have a scrip where you could ask a Bama mod?
Posted on 7/28/12 at 5:06 pm to Bryant91092
If true, he better hurry up and decide so that Bama can move on. A top pf is imperative in this class.

Here's a couple minutes of footage of Chris Hines overseas. I said it when he graduated, I wish he had a year or two more with us. He started getting better offensively late his senior year.
