I think it was more the fact he was adjusting to the speed of the college game and the nerves that come with the collegiate level. They all vastly improved throughout the year. I think both Cooper and Lacey will shoot around the 40% range for next year, but its not a given.

I'm pretty sure Grant watched every one of Barber's and Williams's games this weekend. I think at a few, it was him and an assistant.

Troy Williams just tweeted "Kansas and Indiana now interested". Just a matter of time before KU started jumping on him.

Hopefully he'll stick with only worrying about us, UL, UK, and Unc.

Is Ragland sticking to football only?

Yeah I think so.

If anyone has 247, there was an update with JuJuan Johnson that had to do with Alabama. We are one of the schools recruiting him hardest. I'd appreciate if anyone could post a few quotes from the article.

quote:

Following a scholarship offer from Alabama back in the spring, Johnson took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa June 30. "I wasn't expecting it to be that nice," Johnson said. "I liked the campus and the facilities where they get their work done."

He says Grant is selling him on the idea of stepping in right away and playing multiple positions.

"He says I could come in and play multiple positions," Johnson said. "He said that I could play more minutes that way at the one, two or three."

Louisville's 2012 PG signee will have to do a prep year so he's now a 2013 recruit, but says he's still committed to Louisville. I wonder how that affects Barber.

No mention of any favorites, but the writer did mention that he'll be tough to pull from Memphis. Which is pretty much a given with any top recruit from the area.

Gary Parrish said on his radio show that Memphis has a huge lead in Johnson's recruitment (along with Nick King's).

This is what I found from a free article at Memphis Roar

quote:

“Memphis, Alabama, Texas, Georgetown and Florida State are recruiting (me) the hardest. They call me the most and just try to build a relationship with me. And that’s a plus for me because I’m trying to build relationships with teams.” While Johnson claims no leaders at the time, he does maintain that Alabama, Memphis, Louisville, and Texas stand out the most.

If anyone has an ESPN subscription, Greg just did an update on Rashawn Powell.

Greg also did a mailbag with a lot of basketball questions so if someone could post things, I'd appreciate it.

They may think Retin is more suited as a two considering how he is playing at that spot on the Belgium team.

Doubt it too, but doesn't mean we wouldn't take em if we could.

Yea I agree. I really like the kid Powell for us. I like him better than Barber just my opinion. I know I havent saw him in a game but his highlight tape is pretty darn good.
