We nearly took the series on the road, against a top 10 team. I think it's a good sign for Goff and the program for playing this hard, when we don't have 1/4th of the talent as some of the teams we face.

Agree. It's just hard to come to grips with the idea that if we do that all year we will finish 12 games under .500 and 10-20 in the SEC.

But that is where we are.

From the tone of his presser, it sounds like Goff is getting a little pissed at the attitude/effort of some folks around there....GOOD!...now's the time to make examples and get rid of "problems" while he's still in the honeymoon phase.

It's just going to be a long year. The roster needs a reboot. And that will happen.

As for the season. My only hope is getting to 20 wins. And that's sad to think about. We absolutely need the midweek games against UAB and Troy coming up. Plus stealing some SEC wins. I don't see a real chance at a SEC series win until Mississippi State.

Anyone else think Goff is overriding some of our pitchers? I heard that Rukes is going to have to have surgery. Can anyone confirm that?

I've 100% come around to the Keith Law school of college pitch count outrage and am pretty disappointed in some of the pitch count (and appearance) numbers for some of our guys.

I don't know if Rukes is hurt or not. One of my friends just said he had sauces. I do know we had Rukes throw damn near 200 pitches in between EIU and UAB. He's been one of the few bright spots of this season I think.

Is it even worth noting Alabama lost to Arkansas tonight?
