I got blasted for saying we would make it out of the next two weekends 2-4 if we are lucky.

Absolutely embarrassing performance. No excuses for this. JJ has to go this offseason.

Recruiting is an array of issues that is bigger than one pitching coach. Jackson had a previous head coach that was wagering against his own team. Hard to be really good under those circumstances. He's had to recruit against teams with massive NILs that they throw at the best players. A good pitcher? He will be throwing for Florida, Tennessee or LSU next year.

Jackson has done a great job with Quick. He's done a good job working with Adam's confidence issues. Ozmer is a stud. He has a litany of bullpen guys who are flat out garbage right now. Friday night is a night mare. Fay gets a good 4 or 5, and then they send the Jr. college team in to get ten run ruled. That is just how it is right now.

We are two to three years away from thinking about competing in the SEC regardless of who coaches pitchers. If we don't get some NIL help, you can largely forget about that. Vaughn needs to jump ship first chance he gets to go to a baseball school.

TL;DR

He cannot recruit and develop talent.

The ones he is able to develop, he doesn’t know how to use. See Ben Hess. Absolute stud in the minors this year. Pretty meh at Alabama last year.

He cannot call pitches.

He cannot develop a rotation.

He cannot make timely substitutions.

We fricking suck. Someone said 3-3 over the next two weekends. Lol. I’m so tired of money and assets not being put into bama baseball. Vaughn is a good coach. We need talent and he needs help.

UGA scored 2 in the top of the first
Alabama answers with 4 in the bottom of the 1st

They just pulled their starter and were still batting.

Who is it you feel he missed on? What did we offer in NIL as opposed to the team that said players went to?

Hess had 13.9 strikeout per nine innings for us. This was second-best in the SEC. That is far from, "Meh". Our problem was not pitching, it was abysmal hitting and a coach that was selling the team up the river.

Furthermore, See Riley Quick. He was nothing but raw ability who could not control his fastball and had no off speed offering. He is now our best starter with a good slider.

He cannot call pitches.

Which pitches do you think he has missed on? How do you know he didn't call a quality pitch but his pitcher missed his spot? That happens. Especially in college.

He cannot develop a rotation.

Have you read his bio? Specifcally, "finish[ed] near the top of nearly every pitching statistic among Southeastern Conference teams during a majority of his Alabama tenure." The 2023 team ERA was 4.51. You should be very competitive with that ERA. Again, it wasn't his fault we weren't winning.

Who is it that you think should be pitching? I mean, yeah, he's basically conceding Friday nights. But he is putting us in positions to win on Saturdays and Sundays. Last week was an anomaly. If I have limited guys who are SEC caliber, I might save them to put them together with Quick and Adams to hopefully get wins from them.

He cannot make timely substitutions.

Are you basing this off of last Sunday's game? One time when he trusted one of the best closers in the game to get a job done, and he didn't? I mean, guys let you down sometimes.

For pretty much the entirety of his career Jackson has coached unpolished guys and made them quality SEC pitchers. He hasn't had a bunch of Kumar Rocker, Jack Leiter, Paul Skenes type dudes who were high draft ready guys either going into college or as transfers. He's had some guys who were talented, but needed a lot of work. It really sucks too when you finally get a guy throwing well, and he either jumps to another school or to the pros.

Jackson has never ever had a staff like LSU or Tennessee have, with multiple high 90s guys who can already pitch.

This idea of firing the coach because things aren't going like we want is not wise.

Ain’t answering all of this shite on a Friday night but

He was 5-5 with a 5.80 ERA

I should have quit reading there.

Dude has been here since 2017.

Name one year where our pitching has been above average.

You can’t.

That would be because you don't know what you're talking about. You're just vomiting emotions like a 14 year old because your team got beat.

Ben Hess has thrown 25 innings over 5 games in high A ball. He's 2-2. You might want to let the season even things out before you start proclaiming the Yankee's development league coach our next must have pitching coach.

Yeah, who exactly is it you think we should be targeting as pitching coach again?

Grayson Hitt - 5.81 ERA at Bama. 6.19 ERA in minors. Jackson must be awesome! Cause our players should not improve as the become professionals.

Literally almost every Bama pitcher in MILB has a worse ERA than at Alabama.

The guy calling our games with Chris Stewart tonight, Alan Dunn, if you know who that is, would be an upgrade over JJ… and I haven’t even started thinking about it.

We need fans...we need Friday night to be rocking...instead we have tickets that are too expensive, corporatized profit squeezing concessions and a bland corporate experience

Who would choose Bama over LSU, UT, Florida, State, etc for Baseball? Bama baseball is just a bland, mediocre brand(I say this as a former player).
