Snell and Bonomolo collide on a diving play in left center.

Both went down.

Bonomolo stayed down for a long time before walking off.

Snell also left with a laceration on his hand.

It is 8-2 Tide in the top of the 5th.

Need bullpen to hold this, when multiple players get knocked out it’s a bit of an energy killer. Hopefully we can get another run or two, but you’ve got to make an 8-2 lead stick.

Bonomolo came back in the game

Which was surprising because he literally laid there motionless (after scrambling and throwing the ball back in) for like 5 minutes. It was a 10 minute delay.

Free bases when you’re up 6 runs hurts. We need to get out of this with at least a 3R lead

Pretty good start on the mound by Faniteri going 4.2 innings and only allowing 1 run. Worked the jitters out in the first to get out of a jam.

Myers and Ozmer were both good.

Fay not so much.

Yea I really thought Finateri would be a weekend guy when he transferred. He looked pretty good today for sure , an improvement from the last time I saw him . Fay may have actually picked up some velocity but dang he is all over the place

Finateri gave up 1 in the 1st , then settled down the next 4 innings . Hodo and Torres homered and we were up 8-2 for most of game . Hberger, Buchanan and Fay gave up 4 runs til Myers and Ozmer closed them out 8-6. Couple rain delays but for the most part , a well played game . Nasty collision with CF and LF ( who left game with a cut in hand ) caused about a 10 minute delay as both went down so OU got an inside the park HR. Could have been really bad

Long day at the Joe. About the crowd you can expect for a rainy forecast. Happy to get this series over with. I’d be surprised to see Kade in the lineup Tuesday vs Samford. He was pretty wobbly leaving the field. I thought they were going to have to bring the stretcher out for Bonomolo - the team gathered around him while the doctor and trainer examined him as he was flat out on his back. But he made a miraculous recovery after he came out. Staton went to left field and Neal shed his catching gear and headed to right field and Fowler took over at center field, with Plattner coming in to catch. Bonomolo came back the next inning and Fowler went back to right and Neal shifted over to left field (where he caught a fly ball). Great team win against a top 10 team. Happy to see Fowler and Torres get back in the groove offensively.

After Tuesday’s game, Bama heads to auburn for the next conference series.

It’s past time to put some butts in the seats . No more excuses now . Teams around the league who are not enjoying the success Bama has currently have better atmospheres .
