Quite likely the ugliest 12-6 win I’ve ever seen.

For the freshmen who made the most of their opportunity tonight

quote:

Alabama freshmen Andrew Purdy and Caleb Barnett each had bases-clearing extra base hits in tonight’s win over UAB.

The duo combined to drive in 8 of Alabama’s 12 runs on the night.

Purdy recorded his first collegiate home run and Barnett recorded his first multi-RBI game of his college career.

Any thoughts on whether these guys will see more PT due to our lousy BA in SEC play.

I hope that they do. I also hope we are able to retain these guys for next season.

Upchurch
Purdy
Hines
Barnett

That's a really solid freshman nucleus. I think Kroberger has some potential also although he's had a rough offensive year.

I listened to the CWS on the radio at Panama City Beach in 1983. Dave Magadan.

I remember going to someone else’s house to watch the final because we didn’t have ESPN living in the country outside of Tuscaloosa

They did a good job with that documentary

Definitely remember the Bud truck usually parked in centerfield with the fans on top of it during that era for most home games.

That's funny. I listened to the 1997 CWS on the radio in Selma as a kid because we didn't have ESPN

Do we have any chance in hosting a regional? I follow the team but not like some of you.

We’re slotted to host right now but last weekend wasn’t great. Need to avoid a sweep this weekend and go above .500 at minimum the rest of the way in league play to be in contention. 2-3 games over .500 in the SEC is probably a top 8 seed
