#Alabama picks up an older and accomplished reliever in former Texas State hurler Matthew Tippie. Up into the mid-90s and had 73 strikeouts in 46 innings this past season.

Looks like it’s not just the high school players… this is one of our fall JUCO signees. I’m a fan of the 34 full scholarships - but it also effectively eliminates 10+ (nonscholarship) spots on every team.

We got enough pitchers with bum arms averaging 5 walks per 9 innings already.
Hate it for him though.

Unfortunately the arm injury was going to take him out of the fall. Hate it for him and best of luck finding a new spot.

I have also heard from sources that some big names in the transfer portal wanna go to Alabama and team up with Lebron.
I remember watching an interview with Lebron before the season where he said he is projected more at CF at the next level and that’s what he thought he was coming to Alabama to do.
Now I’m not saying that projection still holds true, but if we get a portal guy like Chris Hacopian (.375 BA, SS, Maryland) we’ll know what’s up.

TNews info on Kaden Humphrey
quote:
Right-hander Kaden Humphrey has already updated his social media bios, letting his followers know that his move from North Florida to Tuscaloosa is official.
The rising senior went 2-2 in 24 relief appearances last season and proved to be one of the most reliable pieces of North Florida's bullpen with 11 saves. Humphrey's continued development at Alabama should satisfy the Crimson Tide's need to replace closer and Stopper of the Year finalist Carson Ozmer.
Humphrey, who transferred to UNF following his freshman season at Stetson, maintained a 4.30 ERA during his final year with the Ospreys.
He tallied 46 strikeouts and held opponents to just .206 at the plate, which saw him give up no more than 22 hits all year. Like Ozmer, Humphrey's contributions helped him make the watchlist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year award.

Baseball-related House settlement info:

Kendall Rogers@KendallRogers
Some additional information on the House Settlement:
1) New roster limits apply ONLY to schools/conferences who have opted in (it's more than 250 schools).
2) You MUST declare your 34-man roster by December 1.
3) I am NOT expecting major conferences to hold members to a specific scholarship total. Expect programs to offer as many as they want (up to 34).

Some things to know for college baseball:
1) Any NIL deals $600 or more MUST be approved by a clearinghouse
2) College baseball rosters will trim from 40 to 34 in 2026.
