We may have Pitcher 1. Would he be moved to friday night when SEC play starts. Wouldnt you want to start out the weekend with a W. Or was Fay just having a bad day.

Eich looked good after his first inning of relief.

9 strikeouts through 4 innings.

Is that good?

Our pitching coach hasn’t gotten a chance to ruin him yet

I wouldn’t move him to Friday. Let him grow into that role.

Obviously it’s early but Fay looked no different than last year. Hopefully, he looks better next week.

The strategy worked last year in back loading our starting rotation to try to win each series, but it would be nice to have a Friday night ace again.

What a difference a day makes. So glad they were able to get both games in yesterday. Lots of new (and some old) faces. The freshmen have impressed so far. Despite scares from Fowler and Neal, it looks like we might have escaped without major injuries.

Tuesday Bama travels to Samford for a 4 pm first pitch, and then back home Wednesday for a 4 pm start vs Alabama State (ahead of the basketball game at 6).

Next weekend is a Friday-Sunday series against Rhode Island.

The weather looks promising.

It was one game. Myles was fantastic, but throwing him into the Friday role as a freshman after 4 innings is aggressive. Would you keep Adams on Saturday even though he looked great through 5 with 9K and 0 BB? Our bats were flat game 1 and the start of game 2 when Adams was dealing until Vaughn hit the HR so the entire loss can’t be placed solely on the pitchers. Tyler didn’t have his best but he’s been a workhorse and I think he’s going to bounce back.

I hope they keep putting Purdy in the lineup. The kid feels like the real deal with a veteran approach during his AB and he smashed during the scrimmages. Other teams will be ready to pounce to get him but if he gets the playing time I can see him buying in like Lebron and Adams.

The jury is still out on some of the transfers. Maybe it’s opening weekend jitters?
