Let us know the next time our football team doesn’t make a shite ton of money. It’ll be the 1st time. I reckon they know what they’re doing.

This is more cope from Michigan fans. That job might not be as desirable at the very moment that they think it is

Marcus Freeman is rumored to be a top candidate for the NY Giants. It's heating up a lot right now.

Michigan and Notre Dame could be available. Jimmy Sexton is CKD's representative.

DeBoer is going to get called upon and Sexton is going to work an extension for his client.

Earlier in this thread, I said we needed to be careful about give CKD an extension but I think at this point....It's a foregone conclusion. I just hope it's a good contract for the University.

Was watching a brief clip of Rich Eisen's podcast on You Tube and he had Todd McShay and McShay says he thinks there's something to the CKD to Michigan rumors.

Granted, McShay freely admitted he grew up a Michigan fan and has family ties in the past to Michigan, so I'm not sure just objective he can be here.

Now, before anyone gets their bowels in an uproar and starts having epileptic seizures over me mentioning this, this is NOT my opinion or what I want or hope for. Just mentioning what I saw.

I always liked McShay fine when he was covering the draft at ESPN but he’s kind of just a guy who makes podcast rounds and his a little YouTube show now.

I don’t really expect he’s connected. Probably a lot less connected than he was 6 years ago. I think Josh Pate is probably a guy who legitimately hears a lot of things and he’s been adamant he thinks this is all just noise. Not that Michigan wouldn’t try, but DeBoer is not interested

Let's say DeBoer leaves Bama for Michigan (which would seem to me to be retarded; given the state of the program/AD).

Who the Hell would we get?

I would hire Glenn Schumann. Pull a reverse Kirby Smart. Or maybe elevate Wommack on the cheap and put more resources into NIL.

I’ll get downvoted into oblivion but this late in the process I think they hire Womack who has HC experience and try to hire an expensive OC. 1. Lane will never be offered the job and 2. As big of an egotistical turd as he is even he would not leave lsu after just taking the job to come to Alabama. Nor would he be offered so any coaching discussions should exclude his name.

Whatever we do please don’t hold the university hostage and offer some crazy buyout number that if he’s terrible in 2 years we are set back for 8 more. Buyouts are the killer in my opinion.
And does any other staff ever get pillaged??
Other than Bamas?

DeMeco would be the 1st call. The Texans turned their season around so probably a no.

Make Lanning say no. He was our 2nd choice after DeBoer and that got him a raise at Oregon.

The bloom is off the rose a bit, but Sark would be more gettable if we wanted. The Texas situation got a bit toxic.

Schumann.

Brent Key(were one of the few places I think he’d leave GaTech for

We would not offer him and he wouldn’t leave LSU at this time.

I’d put it at 5%. I’ll save myself 5% because of the “anything could happen” but it just makes no sense. He’s already said he’s not interested. It’d be easy for him to do like Wommack and say “I don’t address job rumors”.

DeBoer is actively still recruiting at Alabama. And Nick Sheridan (who played QB Michigan) just left to go be OC at Michigan State

I’d imagine if there was even a chance DeBoer was going to Michigan he’d have hung around to coach his Alma mater instead

I'd call Kyle Whittingham. All of his teams are tough and very physical. Hes also a very good coach. He made it clear he didnt retire but it was just time to move on from Utah.
