In addition to potential championships and such, there another possible tidbit to enjoy: basking in the Gus Malzhan's firing after the last game of his auburn head coaching career - getting smoked at home in the Iron Bowl.

I personally hope he coaches at auburn forever, but there's an excellent chance he gets fired days or hours after the Iron Bowl. And it'll be glorious.

For a bad coach he has had the most success of any coach against us.

Despite their underdog image, Auburn is arguably the 2nd most talented team on our yearly schedule. But yea Gus is a better coach than he gets credit for

They presently sit at 3rd at absolute best (after LSU and TexAM), and I seen no reason to think they have more talent than Miss St. auburn is currently a middle-of-the-pack SEC West Team that we beat by 30 last year.

Gus' coaching career should be divided into 2 stages, before and after the rules changes a number of years ago.

Stage 1 Gus was an innovator who took advantage rules that gave massive advantages to offenses.

Stage 2 Gus - after rules changes that 1) allow defenses to sub if the offense subs, 2) get an 8th referee on the field, and 3) standardize how fast referees will move between plays and standardize how fast the ball will be blown ready for play, and 4) emphasize calling illegal man downfield - is fricking clownshoes.

Gus Malzhan is a terrible offensive coach who runs a terrible offensive scheme, and due to running this terrible offensive scheme, he has a really hard time recruiting offensive linemen and QBs out of HS, as his scheme not only makes it harder for those players to get to and succeed at the next level, it actively hinders their development for the NFL. As a reference, search on google for articles about Greg Robinson, an auburg Tackle who was taken with the second overall pick in the 2014 draft and then was out of the League in 3 years due to "not being able to unlearn what he learned at auburn." Sure, he's getting another recent shot with the Browns, but he's a monumental bust.

If not for Kevin Steele continuing to resurect and maintain the aubunr defense after Muschamp's one year return, Gus Malzhan would've been run out of auburn years ago.

After those rules were changed, Gus Malzhan has been absolute clownshoes and is a 5-loss per year coach.

He's beaten Saban a couple of times, but one year, it took one of the luckiest, randomest plays in CFB history to beat Bama, and the next year, it took us being down to our 3rd string OLBs and our 2nd string ILBs and Jalen Hurts inability to mount any form of passing attack.

Gus Malzhan is clownshoes, and I hope he coaches at auburn forever.

However, I think aubunr's offense is going to be awful this year, he'll lose enough games this year to be fired after the Iron Bowl, and Kevin Steele will be hired as the next Head Coach of auburn football.
