Milroe regressed this year. Rees got more out of him the previous year, and Milroe was equally flawed in 2023.

A reasonable explanation is that DCs figured out how to confuse Milroe and take away his core competencies and he was completely unable to adjust,

All they had to do was look at his feet.

I just think Milroe was never a fit for Deboer. We'll see next year.

As the year progressed it appeared that confusion was Milroe’s only core competency.

He seemed to be continuously lost, could not decide if he should keep the ball or hand it off, could not decide when to take off and run, could not run effectively, and even lost his ability to throw the deep ball.

I’m not sure what lead to all that, but I don’t think it was all attributable to DCs.

How do you even know that?

I looked her up when you guys were saying she was the reason Grubb wouldn't come.

You have never heard of Google?

There's also a really odd letter begging states not to limit abortions that she cosigned that's just sitting out there with it's own website. Anyway it was just a simple Google search of her name.

Between Jalen's limitations, Martindale's skill, (no idea if they're still stealing signals), it was pathetically easy for Michigan to stop us. Oklahoma, too. Almost anyone with a solid defensive staff, really.

Honestly surprised Georgia's D staff wasn't ready for him. But he owned them and Auburn, and for that, I will be forever thankful to him.

Further confirmation that Grubb's on the hot seat in Seattle:
quote:

One other offensive coordinator who could get the gate is Seattle Seahawks OC Ryan Grubb.

Grubb was well-respected, and much-studied, by NFL folks in his past couple of years as the University of Washington’s OC. But his scheme has been lacking in the run game and has put Geno Smith in too many straight drop-back situations. Which, with the Seahawks line’s issues, have turned Smith into a sitting duck too often.

Honestly lack of run game and straight drop backs were our problem this year too. At least I think the straight drop back passing is due to QB inability here.

No idea.

I really don't think Grubb would replace Sheridan. I just think if he does come back he'll be under different role.

I imagine we'll probably know before noon. Everyone wants to get the terminations out of the way ASAP so they can start requesting contact with other coaches.

For as long as I live I'll never understand how Milroe was able to make Kirby Smart look like an idiot on multiple occasions, score 8 rushing TDs in 2 games against LSU, go 2-0 against AU (by the way, Milroe and Bryce are the only Bama QBs to win 2 games against AU without a loss since Walter Lewis over 40 years ago) and yet seemingly shite the bed against most everyone else. Brian Kelly and Kirby are terrified of a guy that most other coaches would rather face than Greg McElroy.

Kirby Smart has always struggled with QBs who can scramble and run. It’s been his kryptonite since he was the DC at Alabama.

Everyone struggles with dual threat QBs, but Milroe isn't a dual threat. He's not Cam Newton or Johnny Manziel. Which running QBs did Kirby struggle with that weren't a problem for everyone?
