Of course he did

Definitely makes the game way tougher. Although I am assuming he will be rusty.

He put up 26 against us last year when we had a way better and deeper front line.

Very good news to report.

Insider I interact with on another board who is very plugged in and friends with multiple big name current coaches says Holt signed with Bama Friday night.

This makes sense if we do end up landing Samuels and Holt. That plus Bouie is a lot of wings.

All three, Bouie, Holt, and Samuels are about 6’5” 190-200 lbs, perfect in Oats “positionless” basketball. Of course, I hope we sign a big rebounding forward and a point guard.

We need to sign to some enforcers up front otherwise it’ll be history repeating itself. We need to complete the circle if we are to win a National Champioship.
We seem to always be missing a piece of the puzzle which limits our rise to the ultimate prize.

The missing piece is always some 7'2 goofy looking white dude or a true old school center that is physical in the paint

We do t play basketball that way. They’d never get past half court before we scored.

Remember when the “7 seconds or less” Suns traded for Shaq? It sucked

We need the right kind of center that can hold up well enough in the post but can run the court. Having plodder centers isn’t the only way to win in college

You're probably right, I'm just going off based on the teams that usually beat us. It's probably more about establishing their physicality more than anything

It’s important to remember we were up on UConn in the 2nd half in the final 4. That Brandon Miller team should’ve won it all.

We’ve been close. It’s hard to win 6 straight games against the best teams. If we can just keep putting ourselves in position it’ll break our way one day.

We’re really just now starting to get Top 10 type talents with guys like Bethea and hopefully Holt

Just listened to coach's pregame conference and at the end he was asked if we have ever looked at recruiting European players like what other programs have started doing. His answer was interesting. It sounds like Bama is being limited in recruiting by our budget.

He essentially said that financially, it's hard to bring top talent over from Europe because you're competing against the money they are already making from the leagues they play in. He said that both St. Johns and Illinois are spending much more than us and money isn't much of an object for them to recruit overseas. What will it take for us to be able to compete financially against other programs?

With St John’s I could see it. They have Mike Rapole(owner of the UFL) bankrolling them and it’s the only game in town.

Illinois I’m not sure. They’re having to spread money through Football too. I think a bigger issue is connections with overseas coaches who can tell you the guys that are good but you could outbid. Popovich was the best at scouting Europe because he knew all the people who had eyes on those leagues. Obviously Illinois has some connections in the Balkins

I mean, if we’re keeping Philon out of the league/portal and able to spend enough to get Sears to come back, get Cliff and Bol Bowen out of the portal then I’m sure we could afford a few Croatians if we wanted.

I do think we must be at least pretty competitive in the NiL field because we’re out recruiting most schools and in the mix for top tier talent.

We’ll never be the biggest fish in that pond because we don’t have billionaire boosters and a lot of our fans would rather light $100 on fire than donate to a collective. But for now we’re obviously doing really well with what we have.
