I’m legitimately laughing at the idea that men who spend millions on NIL to bring athletes to their school wouldn’t consider spending a little extra to bring in an athlete who can contribute on the field while also allowing them to brag about how they stole them from a rival. Not to mention by “stealing” a player it creates a perception of superiority for your program from a brand image standpoint which can help attract other recruits. It’s basic marketing.

I'm sure the spectrum of mega-boosters across collegiate sports consists of a handful of men who actually played and know the game to some extent, and the majority are just filthy-rich mega-boosters who simply believe that
filling a roster with 5-Stars (or former 5-Stars who may or may not be good)
is a foolproof winning strategy. And yes, having the talent is the most critical element to winning. But team chemistry and leadership are also important.
Some of these programs either have these mega-boosters or enough sheer numbers of fans/alum who care about the program to out-spend everyone else. To these select individuals, dropping tens of millions of $$$ to get a leg up is only a rounding error. We can't fathom being at that level.

But some of us have "grown up" in our lives, and realize that there are more important things than their favorite teams' exploits on a field or court. So we're just not going to participate or tether our egos and emotional stability to trivial stuff like this. That's where I am, and I suspect over time I will have more and more company as this thing continues to devolve.

Don't know a better way to say it other than try to put it in its proper perspective.

Fluff Bothwell from South Alabam

The knock on Fluff is he’s a little on the slow side. One thing I can guarantee, he’s great in traffic and he’ll lower his shoulder to get the tough yards. He’s also the type player you want in the locker room. Hard worker, no nonsense

Wouldn’t mind this. Adams is always injured.

So has Squirrel…at least this year. Honestly, I’d rather have Adams because he has more eligibility and has shown reliability in receiving.

Who cares.

I didn't think we were getting another WR unless Adams were leaving. This new to me. Let me do some digging.

Yeah, no. This sounds made up

Looks like a normal twitter in the comments, not some connected source. His one football comment is we “really wanted Tafai, big win for Minnesota over Alabama” which is out of left field and we were never connected to him.
