Feels like we’re losing guys at the same clip we were losing them when Saban retired.

I’m not against the players having freedom, but this is out of control.

18 years old and a million dollars in his hands. He gone and 98% would be as well.

The only question is how much did Bama have to pay Williams to stay? AND does the other players know that amount.

At this point I'm just waiting for his portal announcement.

Williams makes more than we pay him from third party endorsement deals as the face of the team

A backup doing a 3K hollister instagram ad isn’t Ryan Williams

This is why the people claiming we need to recruit better in-state and recruit less nationally are full of shite. Bak was the definition of an home grown talent who grew up a Bama fan. The in-state kids are no more loyal than any other player.

And how do you think these other Bama players feel about the difference in pay?

You and I would too.

If Alabama isn't paying, why stay?

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but all this attrition doesn't bother me in the least. DeBoer needs to his system's type of athletes in here, while this my feel exclusive to Alabama right now i think we'll be ahead of the curve in finding a sustainable medium between recruiting & the portal.

People are getting mad at him and that’s dumb. I would stop being a bama fan in a heartbeat if someone offered 7 figures. I wouldn’t enjoy not being a fan but that is life changing money. We should complain about this pathetic structure supporting this Wild West though

Every recruit is loyal to the team that has the most Ben Franklin's!

Forget anything else.

Williams would be the face of any team. He would make more being at Texas.

Alabama is going to have to pay up to be relevant. Blew a shot at the playoffs this year and Alabama's archival just paid for them a 5 star QB. The players Alabama just signed this year, half of them will be playing for other teams in 2026. Pay up or get left behind.

Really?

But what if Bama offered you 5 or 6 figures now, but with a more likely path to making 8 figures in the future? Which would you choose?

A lot of these guys are thinking short-term, and I can understand why, but agents and their PARENTS should be counseling them on what's a better investment long-term.

People are getting mad at him. It’s true. But that’s because he’s the face of a system that is broken. The bottom line is that kind of money should not be given to collegiate athletes.

We need to make these kids paid employees and lock them into a two-year contract and move the transfer portal to the month of May.
