Maybe this means that Miller will stay for his senior season. Also glad that Richard Young will get a shot now.

Assuming that Miller stays, I really like the running back room for 2025. Dear is a stud. Kevin Riley showed a very good burst when he saw time against Mercer. He reminds me a little bit of Kenyan Drake.

Maybe it was just a terrible fit but Justice looked like a big, slow back who didn't see holes well and rarely broke tackles for almost the entire season.

Wish him well elsewhere but outside of the 3rd quarter in the Rose Bowl never showed much of anything.

The only highlight he had was the run against Missouri. Outside of that, not much. Hate to say it.

I hate to say "disappointing" for a kid because they didn't proclaim how good they'd be, but definitely thought we'd see more out of him at some point. I'm sure he'll be solid somewhere else.

Very happy with the RB room moving forward.

I hate to see him go but between he and Richard Young, I would much rather keep Young. He was banged up some this year but his ceiling is higher in my opinion.

Justice Haynes in the portal

Can't say I'm surprised. I think Miller is likely going to be the stable veteran back with Young and Dear getting more touches next year. Considering we won't have a run-first quarterback behind center in 2025, I expect the 2nd and 3rd tailback to actually have a meaningful impact on the game unlike most weeks in 2024.

I’m really thinking Dear will be that guy going forward ! He will get touches next year but after that I could seem him being an ALL SEC type back

Haynes showed flashes last year, just not consistently. For a big, strong guy he often ran more like a 5'8" 175lb scat back instead of a bruiser.

I understand that he was likely frustrated by getting so few touches and that going forward those QB runs may end up being QB passes and so he figured he'd be better off playing somewhere else. Oh well. I don't love it but I get it.

That said, I really liked what I saw out of Richard Young this year. He has really great balance, but what stands out is that he runs like it's the last carry of his life. He runs hard. I am excited to see what he does in the bowl game.

The little I've read about him suggests he's an immediate impact player. Plus he seems to possess the attributes that would be more successful in what DeBoer likes to do with the run game. Being a decisive one-cut back is a big benefit with the run scheme we use now and the scouts suggest that's his style.

I agree. His lack of vision in seeing the holes/lanes and not having that extra gear made for a disappointing career here imo. Wish him the best unless he suits up againt Alabama or heads to Ohio St...... frick those guys.
