Did David Johnson(Ole Miss 247) give any reason on why he picked Bama for Crystal Ball? I assume he has some connenctions that he heard from or some reason that led him to pull the trigger on bama.
I didn't find anything posted by Johnson about his CB pick. But Hank's followup article on Jackson's weekend visit to UA included this:
quote:
Jackson added the race for his signature is down to Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU and Auburn.
Recruiting Analysts for different 247 team sites read each other's stuff, share info and interview quotes.

So top three guys out four going to Clemson? Farrell doing work.
Would be interesting to follow future progression of Anderson and Bresee.

I don't know why DJ is #3 when he show struggles in the all-star game and got outdueled badly by Bryce in the season.
They are not that close and Bryce honestly should be #1.

Rivals gives DJ a lot of bonus points for being much bigger and taller than Bryce Young and for being a Clemson commit vs. a Bama commit

Former Tide players may be restricted from sideline access in future CFP games, due to Odell Beckham incident
If the money is proven to be legitimate, huge penalties await the Tigers.

Who would want to go there now that the NCAA is beginning to investigagte?

Yeah even if the NCAA actually looks into it for more than 10 seconds (they won't), and even if they are able to prove it was real money (Burrow will 100% "clarify" that he got real money but the guys with remaining eligibility totally got fake money), you're talking about making them give a few hundred dollars to charity and calling it a day.

One reason is the head to head matchup in the playoffs when DJ threw for 444 & 5 TD’s while Bryce threw 3 int’s while losing to Bosco & DJ.

I honestly think the upside across the board in this class rivals any class we've ever had, going back to the great classes of 2008, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017.

2016 Class
#115 - Trevon Diggs (will be 1st round pick)
#155 - Quinnen Williams (#3 overall pick)
#192 - Jalen Hurts (great college career)
#469 - Josh Jacobs (#24 overall pick)
#528 - Irv Smith Jr (#50 overall pick)
That class is going to have 4 Top 50 picks from guys rated outside the Top 100

They played against each other twice this year.Bryce's team won the first meeting. Bryce's stats:
"On the evening, the Alabama pledge was 19 of 33 passing for 256 yards and three touchdowns, also rushing 15 times for 73 yards and two scores."
For their career they finished 2-2 against one another.
