LINK ]2020 Recruiting: Projecting How The Bulldogs Finish The Class (BulldogMaven | segments)
quote:

. . . The only current commit that we would have any inclination of a potential flip would be Broderick Jones. Auburn has been all over him, and we reported yesterday that he spent his last weekend for official visits in Tuscaloosa. . .

Arian Smith: We expect Arian Smith to sign with Georgia on Wednesday and have no inclination of anything else. The speedster from Lakeland, Florida will pair well with Marcus Rosemy in this class and provide something to the UGA offense that went missing this season with Mecole Hardman leaving for the draft -- a guy that can take it to the endzone from anywhere on the field.

Darnell Washington: I'll preface this by saying no one on this list makes me feel more uncomfortable about this projection than Washington. He took a trip to Knoxville this weekend to close out his visits, but he's been in Athens more than almost any recruit this season. With Georgia striking out on Theo Johnson and Woerner and Wolf leaving, Washington is a must-have. Kirby Smart hasn't lost too many of those lately. . .

5* OT Broderick Jones 6-5/275 GA hudl UGA

Author says Kirby Smart hasn't lost too many must-haves lately. But TE is a must-have and he swung hard and missed on both Gilbert and Johnson. Will Washington be strike 3? Auburn landed UGA lock Zykeivous Walker lately too. Clemson also cherry picks top UGA targets out of Georgia. Kirby was gonna get Trey Sanders and Evan Neal last February too. UGA recruits very well, but UGA recruiting sites talk like Kirby can get just about errbody he wants.

I don’t think there’s much chance we get A smith. All of the mods I have seen say he is GA bound. Also seems like D Washington May end up at Tennessee which I would prefer that rather than Georgia if he doesn’t go to us. Also seems strange that Broderick Jones took a visit to us if everybody thinks he’s going to flip
To auburn?

I would too if I had a CB pick.. Bama is waiting to see on Washington. JJ will sign with the Barn. If we miss in Washington.. I expect ya to press for Brandon Frazier

I agree with this. I have no clue why he'd want to play in a boring arse Kirby Smart/James Coley offense, but to each their own. Jarrett is must-have. I'm still not sold that Ruggs and Smith will return, and outside of Waddle and Metchie, I'm not in love with the returning WR's on our roster. I also don't think any of the 3 WR's that we currently have committed to us are difference makers on day 1.

I can understand the pitch UGA is going with.. come in and be the feature WR. Guaranteed starting and will be the top WR

I used to think recruits just didn't consider which schools made the most sense for them in terms of scheme, departing/remaining personnel, etc. But sometimes they do - they carefully determine which of their top schools is the worst fit for them and then pick it.

All of the mods said Gilbert to Bama too. Can you link, quote or even list "everybody" who "thinks" Broderick Jones will flip to Auburn?

A lot of recruitments are undecided, and fluid situations as coaches are working phones up until they sign, and misinformation comes into play as well.

Tim Watts put together some recruiting nuggets late last night. I'll paraphrase:

- Jamil Burroughs, Javon Baker and Jayson Jones are not signing on Wednesday. Burroughs and Baker have grade issues. Jones is a potential blue shirt candidate and he's deadset on Alabama, but they want him as an OL, not DL.

- He'd be pretty surprised if Phillip Webb didn't sign with LSU.

- We're still in it for Jase McClellan.

- It's too early to call regarding Tim Smith's eventual signing. Sources say Alabama, but everyone is waiting for his Florida visit to wear off before making final predictions.

- Too early to call for Arian Smith between Alabama-Georgia.

- Tennessee might be the dark horse for Darnell Washington. A source on him says he is even more confused than ever, but he will sign with someone on Wednesday.

- Rakim Jarrett can sign early, but he can not enroll early. If he doesn't sign on Wednesday then it is good news for us.

- Hearing Auburn for Pegues.

- Kayshon Boutte to LSU.

- No clue on Jordan Burch.

- Late NSD prospects to follow are McKinnley Jackson, Alfred Collins, Brandon Frazier and Jahmyr Gibbs.

TE Brandon Frazier: The former Arkansas commit opened back up his recruitment after Chad Morris was dismissed and Texas Tech was his first official visit after that. He likes Tech, his family has West Texas ties and the Red Raiders are in it, but he will not be signing until February and he has many suitors. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Alabama or back at Arkansas.

That all sounds like a potential disaster for us ala 2018.

You aren't going to like this article then.

Mind of Mike: Five National Signing Day predictions

quote:

1. CLEMSON WILL FINISH WITH THE NO. 1 CLASS

This isn’t an easy call because there are so many moving parts, but Clemson will sign the No. 1 class and beat LSU, at least in the early portion of things. LSU has so many question marks heading into Wednesday and not all of its guys will sign (Rakim Jarrett is an example) while there should be little drama with Clemson.

2. A BIG NAME PROSPECT WILL FLIP

Well duh, right? I write this every year and every year it’s true but this year it could be many players. Will defensive tackle Timothy Smith chose the Gators or stick with Alabama? Offensive lineman Chris Morris is rumored to be looking at an Ole Miss flip and quarterback Chubba Purdy could flip from Louisville to Florida State. I could name about a dozen more on flip watch and you can bet there will be a lot of excitement this week in that regard.

#3 was about Justin Flowe.

quote:

4. JORDAN BURCH WILL END UP AT GEORGIA

I don't have inside knowledge on Burch's recruitment, and anyone who says they do is probably trying to be a big shot. Burch’s mother has been in control of this process from the start and I think it’s clear he’ll be staying close to home. So why Georgia over Clemson? I feel he would have committed to Clemson by now if that was home for him and Kirby Smart getting the last visit is always dangerous.

5. FLORIDA WILL SIGN THE BEST CLASS IN THE SUNSHINE STATE

Donnell Harris is another one of those flip names to watch and I think he ends at Florida. I also think the Gators pull Smith from Alabama. Florida State will get a few good ones, but Mike Norvell hasn’t had time to put together a big-time class yet. Miami seems to be trying to hang on to what it has. The Gators will close strong and win the state, at least during the early portion, with ease.

No way - our already committed haul is way better than that.

We had 2 Top 50 players and 4 Top 101 players in 2018.

We have 5 Top 50 players and 10 Top 101 players in 2020.

Poor guy. Just take your time. Everyone is still going to want this guy in February too.

I'm mostly referring to the whole crash and burn down the stretch aspect of it. Where we end up missing on nearly all of our top uncommitted targets, losing a couple of commits we didn't want to lose, and signing guys like Musika who are literally just warm bodies to fill the class.
