Chatter here in Mississippi haas been Ole Miss or Auburn for Pegues but maybe we make up some ground with him .

Clark has been committed since July of 2018, before his junior season. I think Bama likes him as an in-line TE a la Hentges. Sometimes Bama does cool on guys who committed early, but they don't wait until 3 weeks before they're expecting to sign to advise them to develop backup options or grab a landing spot elsewhere. From what I've seen, there have been no indications that he's been looking around. Dazalin Worsham is an example of how Bama handles those situations.

My thoughts as well. We probably let him sign and start in the summer.

Maybe. That's noble, but Saban also considers what's best for the team. Sometimes guys with both ACL & MCL tears never get back to 100%. Maybe Bama will hold off on signing him but save a spot for him -- to see how his recovery and rehab progress. But if we don't sign him, it'll be harder to find another team with an open spot for him after the early signing period, and much harder after NSD in Feb. So maybe behind the scenes our staff is trying to help find a team that wants him; e.g., Maryland, Rutgers, Cincy, VT, VA, WV, UK, GT, etc. I'm more inclined to just see how it plays out, instead of trying to predict it.

I also do not expect Caden in this class. I do hope we land a good TE or two though. Not having an elite TE this year hurt us IMO.

I don't think Reggie played much tight end in HS. Maybe I'm wrong. Better athlete and prospect than Clark yes. Better TE and blocker than Clark, probably not (before the injury).

Our recruiting has been dead silent since Young jumped on. Surprised we haven't picked up a commitment or two since then. Guess we will find out alot in the next 3 weeks.

A guy on LSU board said he heard Kevin Hagan say that Phillip Webb is down to bama and auburn. Would be awesome if we could pull him. I know he has an official here left. Would be incredible to pull him

We need to pull an ILB, WR, TE, OL and DL to close. Adding an elite RB would be a bonus. We will need to clear a spot or two to make all of that happen. And I think between Clark and Jones, we have our needed spots for a stellar finish. Just hope Saban and the boys close strong this cycle.
