I'm glad Ed O got Gilbert. It only motivates Saban.

It was more like 80 K, Roy Adams later admitting he upped the actual amount to grab more attention. In the end it doesn't matter, both amounts are significant.

It's fine if the school gets a recruit's family members a job, as long as it is a real job and within the experience/abilities of the applicant. The pay must be in line with the typical pay for that job. Duke has done this for years. But it is legal.
getting the parent a new job. Boosters run deep in all towns.. even we were notorious for the new job approach.

Other sudden and surprising long-distance high-ranking 2020 LSU Commits: Antoine Sampah, Jordan Toles, Demon Clowney. All of them except Gilbert committed before FB season.
ETA: The #2 2020 player, 5* DL Jordan Burch is suddenly taking an OV to LSU this weekend. And per an inside source, LSU is also after Clemson commit #1 2020 5* QB DJ Uiagalelei.

... LSU’s top four commits ended up in the fold in a bit of a surprise. Five-star cornerback Elias Ricks popped on Christmas when USC and Ohio State were the perceived early favorites. Top247 receiver Rakim Jarrett committed on April 27 when Tennessee looked like the one to beat. It only took one visit in April for another blue-chip receiver in Jermaine Burton (Gilbert's friend and former teammate) to join the fold. Gilbert adds to what is now — arguably — the top receiving corps recruited among all 2020 classes...

They pull in top 5 classes when they suck. Is it surprising they're doing even better when they're winning?

It's too bad our boys are going to end that winning streak.
Again.

How long has it been since they sucked? Twenty years?
Look at where the players they recruited are from? Hardly their recruiting territory, they made their reputation with Louisiana and Southern kids.
Saint must be typing from his keyboard where are you typing from?

When I saw LSU getting commits from kids in the DMV my antenna stood up. Something's off. Baton Rouge is not a draw for kids from that area under normal circumstances. Honestly, LSU doesn't get too many kids from the Atlanta area either but they've gotten more from that area than the DMV.

What all did bone say??

Sucks is relative. They've wasted championship caliber defenses with inept offensive play calling for a while. They always have talent comparative with Bama and the other top programs even on offense but haven't been able to pull it together offensively. So yes based on the talent they've had you could argue they've sucked. It's not hard to understand. They hired Brady who is getting the production out of the offense they've always been capable of. Here's hoping we come out on top this year in a battle of 2 really talented teams.

I don't claim to be an insider and never have. I did hear that his mom and family were equally surprised by his decision and that they had thought his pick was going to be BAMA. So, I really don't give a shite what you think.

Can everyone stop melting please?
I know this isn't my thread anymore, but Jesus, some of you need to get your shite together.
I'm not directing this at UAgrad93. It's to everyone.

I'm in agreement and I know it isn't directed at me or anyone in particular. We have missed out on big time recruits before and have survived. I believe it was Tidal Surge that said to keep an eye out on 2 other TEs that seem to be gaining steam in recruiting circles. I love coming on here and reading/talking about BAMA athletics. I frequent another board, so the majority of my time is spent there. Let's get our shite together!!
Stay dry today!! Senior Night for my son tonight as they are in a must win for the playoffs. Win and they will take the 3rd slot, lose and stay home due to tiebreaker.

Agreed! I was really bummed about this one because we could very well have a true frosh starting next year and we need all the big time talent surrounding him. If he hasn't gone to LSU it wouldn't have been so bad. We can all agree they are the worst fan base imaginable
