That'll do it. He had to show he could do it against the best in camps to really get noticed and even then it's sometimes not enough.

Seems to me that alot of DL out of AL are criminally underrated. Darius was only a 4-star, Q. Williams 4-star, Dale 4-star. Not sure why, but outside of Payne...Alabama DL seem to get undervalued by the services often.
Darius Philon, who played for Arkansas, is another one.

I’m from the marion county area and I’ll tell you all the teams he is playing against this year are shitty 1a schools, so might be why he doesnt get noticed. Not saying he won’t be a beast though.

LINK ]One-time Penn State commit R.J. Adams ready for next step By Brian Dohn
quote:
R.J. Adams released his early senior film Tuesday and he also acknowledged he is back on the market after he pulled back his commitment from Penn State last week.
Adams, a 6-foot-3, 315-pound offensive guard at Woodbridge (Va.) High, added there were no schools standing out as he takes a step back with his recruitment and analyzes his options.
Prepare for a career in sportscasting with a degree program made by the pros.
“I’m not committed anymore,” Adams said.
With his focus is geared toward his senior season, Adams does not have any visits set up yet.
When Adams committed to the Nittany Lions at the spring game April 13, he had N.C. State and Miami high on his list as well and made visits to each of those schools.
Since then, though, several other programs moved into the picture and extended offers, including Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Oregon, Tennessee and Kentucky.
In fact, Adams made an official visit to Kentucky, which offered in late April, for its game against Sept. 14 game against Florida. That came a week after an unofficial visit to Penn State.
Adams camped at Alabama in June, and was offered by the Crimson Tide in August. And after getting the offer, Adams made it known he thought highly of the Crimson Tide.
“I will definitely be taking a visit there for my family to see it,” Adams said when he was offered. “I’m not sure when I will be taking it.”
Adams also camped at LSU with some teammates in June, and he knows the program well. Linebacker and teammate Antoine Sampah committed to the Tigers on April 29.
During a spring tour with his coach and teammates, Adams also made a stop at Mississippi State.
Prior to his commitment to Penn State, Adams also raved about N.C. State and Miami.
With the Wolfpack, Adams built a strong relationship with the coaching staff during his recruitment.
“Coach (Dave) Doeren is a great dude,” Adams said in the spring. “I see how he runs his program. I saw them practice.
“(Offensive line) coach (John) Garrison, it’s his first year there, and I connected to him. As soon as he got there, he contacted me. I met him in person. He knows my mom and we talk a lot. I like how he runs things there.”
In the spring, Adams discussed Miami and called it "the true definition of beach paradise."
He also raved about offensive line coach Butch Barry, who came to the Hurricanes after spending four years in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"Him coming from the NFL, that stands out to me a lot," Adams said at the time. "He sees the potential in me to be able to get to that next level.”
Adams does not have a time frame for a decision.

Have y'all seen this gif:
What's amazing is that they're complaining about an 11:00 kickoff for a home game in October. Hell, the kickoff temp will probably be in the high 70's.

Please Lord be true. The coolest it's been here for football practice this year is 92-93? I hope it drops 15-20 degrees in the next week.

It's been hell all over the Southeast. The only break we've gotten was when the humidity drops under 80%.

Latham: Big and Tall and likes to Maul. What's not to like? If he can translate that to College

Hah looks a lot taller than he did when he first made his commitment.

So we aren't getting Evans right? Does that mean we are letting George go? Kid doesn't look athletic. Just really big.

I don't want Evans. If that means we let George go, then that's ok
I don't think Evans is good enough for all of the shite he's stirring up

Just looked at George's film and he looks less athletic than that kid from LSU last year. At least that kid was a mauler.

Hell, the kid from Reform, looks better, you're right

Weather.com says the high that day will be about 88. That's going to make for an 80ish degree kickoff at worst.
I just saw a weather report that says we could get our first cold push that day with a low around 50, though. That would legitimately make it perfect football weather.
