Surge... Watched the hudl of Maye, he’s impressive no doubt. But the WR on that team (#11) looked impressive as well. Do you know who he is?

I don't know. Saint was checking them out this morning and said he saw a couple of good ones, but they're committed. He got that info off of hudl's HS team data. He didn't mention their names or #s to me tho. Tide Warrior may have some info on them too.
ETA:
#11 -- Elijah Bowick
#5 -- Muhsin Muhammad III

I dare one of you to go in the Jaquelin Roy thread on The Rant and say Smith is better than Roy and that is who Bama really wanted all along.
Please don't. FightinTigah might literally have a stroke

Alabama hit a home run on the recruiting trail on Wednesday, landing 2021 four-star quarterback LINK ]Drake Maye.
The Cornelius (N.C.) Myers Park product chose the Crimson Tide over North Carolina (among others), a program he has strong ties to considering his father, Mark, played quarterback for the Tar Heels and his older brother, Luke, was a an All-American forward for the UNC basketball program.
Maye ranks as the No. 7 pro-style quarterback and the No. 108 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
247Sports rates the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Maye the No. 5 pro-style quarterback and the No. 51 overall player in the country.

Charles Power goes in-depth on what he brings to the table.
Locking down Drake Maye as its quarterback for the 2021 class is a strong move by Alabama. There’s a ton to like about Maye, who ranks in the top 100 of the Top247. For starters, he has a strong athletic pedigree and profile. His father was a quarterback at North Carolina and his brother Luke Maye was an All-ACC basketball player for the Tar Heels. Another brother is a pitcher at Florida. Drake is the smallest of those three, but has ideal size for quarterback at 6-foot-4, 203 pounds. He should play over 220 in college.
Maye’s on-field production as a passer is already on the high end for the 2021 cycle. He had a stellar sophomore season, with 36 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. He’s a pure pocket passer at this stage and has an advanced feel. Maye is naturally accurate and plays with advanced timing and pocket feel. He’s able to deliver the ball to multiple levels with zip, location and touch when needed. The sentiment around Charlotte is he’s probably the best quarterback prospect from the city and state since Chris Leak in the early 2000’s.
I saw Maye at The Opening’s Charlotte Regional in the spring. He was a bit rusty to start the day but heated up once they moved from drills to 1-on-1’s. Maye isn’t a quarterback who trains for the position all year- he’s a stellar high school basketball player. With that said, I think he has some upside and room for growth as a passer. He’s not overly polished or a finished product. He has some things he can tweak mechanically that should help on that front. He'll also need to keep working on his footwork and mobility, though he's not deficient in those areas.
Similar to Haynes King in the 2020 cycle, Maye is the type of quarterback who plays best in live action and open environments. He’s been very strong with his high school team in 7-on-7 tournaments this summer and I expect him to have a big junior year and lead Myers Park to a deep playoff run.
Maye also hits the marks for what colleges like from a personality standpoint. He’s from a family of high level athletes and has a laid back, affable demeanor. There’s a long way to go with the 2021 cycle as they’ve yet to play a down as juniors, but Maye is one who is tracking to be one of the top quarterbacks in the class.

Nice eye for talent you got there.
ETA: Maye will have even more talent to throw to this season. 4-star WR Porter Rooks (NC State commit) appears to have transferred to Myers Park for his Senior season.

Four-star athlete LINK ]Kristian Story is rolling with the Tide. The Lanett (Ala.) product LINK ]committed to Alabama (video) over Texas A&M on Thursday morning.
The pledge notches Nick Saban and company seven of the top 10 players in the state of Alabama for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
The Tide recruits the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder as an athlete capable of playing either quarterback or defensive back.
“I’m going to have a chance to come in and compete, and if I feel like I don’t want to (play quarterback) anymore or that I feel like it would be better for me to move back to the other side of the ball, then I can do that,” Story said of what had the Crimson Tide standing out.
“They win with Coach (Nick) Saban. The opportunity that the program can give you even after your career. It has everything that you need in a school.”
First year Alabama assistant Charles Kelly recruits the in-state standout, and goes way back with the Story family. A one-time Tennessee commit Story was recruited by Kelly during his tenure as a commitment to the Vols. Kelly also coached and mentored Story’s father, Clifford, at Jacksonville State.
On top of the relationships built, Story likes what Alabama represents. “Their tradition in winning,” he said. “Also I feel like family there, too, with the relationships I’ve built with people there throughout the program and some of the players and stuff like that.”
The 247Sports Crystal Ball was all Alabama at decision time.

Story is rated the No. 10 athlete and the No. 224 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Last season, Story passed for over 2,400 yards and 40 touchdowns, rushed for over 1,200 yards and 16 scores, and picked off nine passes on defense.
Here’s 247Sports’ scouting report of Story via Charles Power:
Possesses a stout build and should continue tacking on muscle mass to his frame once he gets in a college level strength program. Could ultimately top out in the 220 pound range before all is said and done. Stars as a two-way player on his high school team, playing quarterback and safety. Athleticism varies relative to what position you're projecting for–-sticks out more positively on that front as a quarterback. Is quicker than straightline fast at this point. Is talented enough to legitimately play at several spots at the Power 5 level, including quarterback.
Has been one of the more productive high school quarterbacks over the past two seasons within the 2020 cycle. Led his high school to a state title as a sophomore and turned in another strong season as a junior. Has a natural feel for the game with the ability to improvise and make creative off-script plays. While he still has some room to develop from a polish and technical standpoint, he's a natural passer with a live arm and the ability to make a wide array of downfield throws.
This is not simply an athlete playing quarterback. Adds a crucial dimension as a run threat, both via designed plays and improvisation. Also highly productive as a safety with high level instincts and anticipatory skills in coverage. Shows some toughness and physicality as a tackler and run defender. Should he stick on defense, it wouldn't be a shock to see him grow into a box defender who has the versatility to play and cover in space.
Playing in a smaller classification, he's almost always the best athlete on the field and uses that edge to his advantage. Will need to nail down and settle into a permanent position once he gets to the college level in addition to adjusting to the considerable uptick in the level of competition. Projects as as a Power 5 starter at a few different spots with his upside being contingent on how he develops once he finds a permanent home.
