Yep. I remember going to the game at UGA around 2000 or 2001. It was a noon-ish tip on a Saturday. I flirted with the ticket lady and she gave me front row seats right behind the basket. There was hardly anyone there - maybe 40% of the arena's capacity- and I was thinking we had a shot.
Then we lost by about 20. I don't even remember our roster that season, but someone had gotten hurt the prior game. Erwin Dudley maybe? Or maybe Dudley played a bunch that game because the guy in front of him got hurt.

That 07 team went to Gainesville to play#1 Florida and got up like 30-4 or something stupid like that and still lost by double digits

I remember that because it was around Valentine's Day and a group of us in school drove to Birmingham to take our girlfriends to dinner and listened the way there. We went in and Alabama was up like 17 with 10 mins left in the first half. We walk out and turn on the radio and they're down with 10 minutes left.
Unfortunately, nobody was too surprised
Edit : it was 22-4 at the 13 minute mark of the 1st half and 42-31 at the half

This is why I said I was surprised that Gottfried has won 8 games this season. Without the energy of a friendly crowd his teams almost inevitably came out flat and played themselves into an early hole.
The kids at Cal State Northridge are probably used to playing without much crowd.

ESPN has it as 47.4% for us, so a 1 point underdog sounds about right. I'm hoping Arky is like LSU, in that we are just a matchup nightmare for them. We beat them good last time. Though that was a point where nobody was sure if Arky was good or they just had an easy OOC schedule. But they turned it around shortly afterwards.

In case anyway is curious and just to get ahead of the inevitable panic if we lose to Arkansas...
ESPN BPI currently has us at a >99.9% to win the SEC Title

1,000 hypothetical seasons would be a LOT of opportunities for Bama Basketball to let us down

We are a matchup nightmare for them. I think its time for Bama to flex its muscles again on the SEC!

Reduced Capacity at Arenas Forcing Alabama Basketball's Bench to Bring the Energy
The Crimson Tide's bench is doing its job to make the team feel like its playing in front of sell-out crowds
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — With capacity reduced to 2,055 from 15,383 inside Coleman Coliseum during the 2020-2021 campaign due to COVID-19, it's a shame that this year's University of Alabama men's basketball team will never experience the electricity of a packed-out home crowd.
It's unfortunate but it doesn't matter to the 6th-ranked Crimson Tide (18-5, 13-1 SEC), who have made a fortress out of Colman Coliseum with an 11-1 record....

If we make our shots I think we win by 5-10 points. Bruner being back facilitated a lot more ball movement and open looks against Vandy.... if we make our shots we win.

I think we’re gonna win. Most people seem to be picking Arkansas.

It's early but Illinois is losing by 10 to Michigan State.
