We played hard and kept fighting. We just ran into a buzz saw. Sometimes ya just need to take your medicine and move on

That was a good game. Loyola is legit.

I am pulling for a UMBC vs Loyola-Chicago Final.
Dont even care if they are in the same bracket.

Right Now I would put my money on a UK/Nova NCG.

That'll win me some money.

Before Hall, it was Retin Obasohan
Not sure why everyone just forgets that Obasohan scored double digits in 11 of the final 12 Grant games
He played for Avery at the same level he ended the Grant era

No he didn't. You're right that he was solid at the end of his junior year, but he wasn't playing at a first team all SEC level. Retin thrived in Avery's system. Saying otherwise is silly.

The most he scored the prior season (including that stretch) was 16 points and averaged just 12 PPG during that stretch. Retin averaged 17.6 PPG for the year and 20.6 PPG during conference play the next season. You're right that he began to consistently show he was a capable player toward the VERY end of the Grant era, but to say he was playing at the same level is straight up insane.
This is one of those times where I think you might be a subtle troll

Gene's been down on Avery hard since Avery spanked Bruce's arse in St. Louis.
Earlier he complained about the refs favoring Bama today and said or returning roster was good for a MEAC school

Honest reaction if Sexton announces year 2.

I edited my post to add that last part
I'm glad it's not just me that feels like he sours on anything Bama basketball related. I like some of his posts, but a lot of his posts reek of anti-Bama bias.

I'd be excited, but kind of mad at Avery for not telling him to go. I see no reason he shouldn't go. This class overall is really good, but it's kind of a weak guard class.

Sad but even wtih Sexton and add Butler+Watford, Avery finds a way to have Ingram and Key on the court at the same time.

What's funny is there was a troll on one of the Twitter feeds saying he was hearing that "Watford is headed to Auburn or out of state". I think some of the barners saw the future unfolding in St Louis.

I've been pretty open about not being impressed w Avery since early in the year
I wouldn't go so far as to saying he can't be a great coach, I just don't see it yet

I've made it clear that posts on the rant are meant to be in line w rant posting standards. Aka occasionally trolling the rant
If Avery shows some great coaching ability I think Bama roster can be a 5-8 type SEC team which should be auto NCAAT bid
As I said though, I'm not sold on Avery so I don't see the jump of players reaching full potential in one off-season

I don't think I can disagree with any of that.

I'd point out that Retin also at a much higher possession/usage rate, so not shocking he scored more on aggregate
Yes Avery deserves some credit for both recognition and that level of play through season
My point is that quite a few people think Retin went from 2pts/game no flashes of potential to 20ppg
