I've been waiting for this since Earnest Shelton graduated.

I mean what do you want, a paragraph going into detail? Most coaches just give coach speak like that and leave.

It also doesnt help that Auburn gets a foul called if you even breathe on them too hard.

I've said it before but Petty is just slamming the X button on 2K every time you have the ball at the arc. He needs to stop taking threes.

I'm sure some of that has to do with having a coach who rides the officials constantly.

I don't believe that. The limited time Schaffer has played he's seen the court and doesn't force his shot (which is good btw) he's a liability on defense but no more so than JR

But again, the difference in Schaffer and JR, even if we agree Schaffer is better, is not huge. And those guys are minimal minutes guys as well.

So, in the grand scheme, our 3 main wings being total dogshite is light years bigger to our overall problems than playing one below average backup PG over another.

Was hoping for a better start but if we come out flat these first couple minutes it will get ugly quick.

I came on the board and fried him over it too. There was a bunch of guys on here that wanted to have me tarred and feathered when I said that he was waaay overrated.

Just compare the opening possessions for both teams. We won the tip and just walked past half court and stood for 10 seconds. When auburn got the ball it never stopped moving and led to an easy bucket. Look I know we don't have the shooters auburn has. But we don't use any of our strengths to our advantage. It's basically just let the clock run out and shoot.

Yea, first 5 minutes of the 2nd half will determine whether we get run out of the gym or play a competitive game.

I get that, but we've had several games this year where we've shot the ball well. It's been a while though so I know it's hard to remember. We make just 2 of the 3's we missed, and this game has a completely different complexion coming out of the half.

The effort is mostly there. We have a solid game plan. We're just missing shots, while Auburn is making shots. It's frustrating to watch, and easy to then pick out every little mistake they make out there.

This team isn't good enough to make up 10 points to a team that hustles and shoots well, no matter what happens.

So yeah even though sexton is gone. If he came back he might not even be a top 15 guy next year based on our other guys

Whoever compared him to Hale, deserves an apology from a bunch of folks. It's a very fair comparison

Stats-

Alabama FG% = 44% total, 17% behind the arc

Auburn FG% = 39% total, 37% behind the arc

There's your difference.

If Petty or Avery Jr could make just one of the wide open three's they missed, we'd be good.

The don't though. Then Auburn goes and makes there shots and get overwhelm calls in their favor
