No doubt about it. Petty is twice the player when Sexton isn't on the floor. No offense to Colin, but if you're playing with him, you tend to watch a talent like that and instead of responding to him. Also, when he's freelancing, you tend to want to get out of his way and let him work. hell, he just fun to watch!

We honestly can win out if we play with the consistency that we've had the past two games. I still think we finish 3-2 down the stretch, maybe 4-1

Here’s hoping we smoke Auburn’s arse at their place.

Petty plays a little out of control sometimes, which leads to some turnovers and bad decisions. I love the effort he gives on the boards and defensively, though. If he could just slow it down a little bit on offense I think it would benefit his game.

JP is gonna be fine once he gets some consistency, but he's defending well and making good passes lately. I was at the Tennessee game and I think Collin is starting to become a creator to go with the scoring. Our defensive efficiency is top 8 in the country. If we keep hitting the glass and getting out in transition we ll be hard to beat. Avery is doing a very good job reaching the young guys I think and putting them in position to be at their best.

If not, #5 behind Mizzu

OK, someone explain to me why LSU fans are convinced that Will Wade is basically the next Coach K or Tom Izzo. Aside from keeping the ball rolling at VCU for a couple of years after Shaka Smart built them into one of the top mid-majors in the country, what has he done to earn that kind of hype? Am I missing something, or is it just LSU fans being LSU fans?

Am I the only person who thinks Petty is good? Inconsistent sure, but over 10ppg game, and he actually defends pretty well now.

His defending, his effort, his shot selection, and even his overall body language have improved drastically from earlier in the season. He has really matured right in front of our eyes and I'm really proud of the kid. The thing that really sticks out to me as of late - against UT he was 3/4 from 3. Tonight he was 3/3 from 3. Just a few weeks ago he would've jacked up at least a couple of reckless 3 pointers, but now he's being patient and waiting for his shot and not trying to force it. So fun to watch these kids grow up.

He has a very good recruiting class, and they are significantly better than last year. I don't think their players are that bad though. They have several pretty talented players. They have a better roster than Avery's first year here.

Actually, Grant built them.

LSU fans being LSU fans.

He is young and has been successful, but he has only been a head coach for 4 seasons.

They just can’t resist going over the top every time they get so much as a glimmer of hope.

That's the key, playing as consistent as we have the last 2 games.

If we can go 3-2 or 4-1 in these last 5 games I'll be ecstatic about where we stand going into the SEC tourney and NCAA tourney

Yeah, they're not totally devoid of talent the way Grant left us. They have a few guys who can play. I'm not saying he's a bad coach or anything. I just think it's strange that so many of them are convinced that they made a home run hire as if it's 2013 and it was them and not the Celtics who landed Brad Stevens.

3-2 seems very possible. aTm is banged up. Florida and Arkansas are both very beatable.

Pretty sure we are the last team to beat them too.

Does anyone know of a good podcast that discusses SEC basketball in depth? Seems like all of the big national podcasts just briefly talk about the SEC and then spend a lot of time on all of the other conferences.

I really think it is solely based off the first 3 weeks of the season and upsetting Michigan and beating Houston.

They seem to think going 17-15 is some type of incredible miracle and all their players are quadriplegic. They are clearly not devoid of talent. They aren't great, but it's not like he's going 17-15 with Rick Ray's last team at Mississippi State.
