So according to RPI forecast, our RPI would be 7 points better if we just didn’t schedule Alabama A&M

Hence why teams play D2 games instead of games like that. Because in the eyes of the RPI, a game in December against UAH isn't actually a game, while a game against Alabama A&M buries you.

They might continue the win, win, loss, win, loss, win pattern, or they could really turn it on.

I hope like heck that's the floor.

With the remaining schedule, that 'bad' pattern would see us finish with 20 regular season wins and an upper half seed in the tourney.

Yeah. Outside of South Carolina we've struggled with the defense first, slower pace teams - Texas, UCF, and UGA

Why doesn't the stupid thing just count all DII teams as one spot below the worst DI team? 355 or whatever it is.

Or easier than that would just be set any DII team equal to the lowest ranked team in RPI.

That thread I posted on the Rant about Auburn was 100% a troll. Auburn is a solid team this year, but their fans have been unbearble.

It's ok. They are gonna fall flat on their face in the postseason.

We couldn't get the Barclays games vs. BYU (one of our best wins) and Minnesota without scheduling Alabama A&M and UTA. I'm sure we didn't want to schedule Alabama A&M.

I wouldn't sleep on AAMU next year. They got some D1 transfers that are sitting out this year. They will make some noise next year. We played AAMU earlier this year and I know we'll play them again next year.

Because RPI isnt based on the specific ranking of an opponent

You can't factor in D2 schools to RPI the way it is set up

Yeah I thought about it and that's why I amended my post. Just set them equal to the last placed team. It should be able to do that.

Their conference is there for the taking. Arkansas Pine Bluff is leading the SWAC with a 7-15 overall record.

LSU just kicked off two players and suspended two more. Not that I'm officially writing them off- because we've seen just about every implosion imaginable with this program- but it does make you feel better that we could beat Mizzou on Wednesday and essentially have two wins locked up. The road games against State and A&M are huge.

So what is up with Petty? I mean concerning his draft prospects. He should be coming back next year, right?

He needs to be back. Spot up shooting is his strength and he's only doing that well at home right now. I think he absolutely needs another year.

This. He'd be a very iffy draft prospect as of now and would at best be a mid-late 2nd rd draft prospect. That can all change in our impending Final Four run though...

I do, however, think Hall could be gone. His athleticism will test off the charts at the combine and he now has the production both offensively and defensively to back it up. NBA scouts already know his name pretty well.
