I think we just took a blow on our chase for Tunsil.

Tunsil himself said today that Pruitt leaving will have zero effect on how he feels about Alabama.

I take things like that with a grain of salt. Like it should.

Pruitt leaving certainly doesn't help our chances.

Wait, why did I think for a second we were going to land Dawson? I forgot that Bobby Williams was recruiting him.

Per Bone:

Alabama is in no danger of losing DeMarcus Walker, Rivals 100 defensive end from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Fla. Walker is set to enroll next month. He decided not take any other visits

Honestly the ONLY one this likely hurts us with might be Tunsil, who now might end up at FSU, but I could still see him going to Bama since Walker & Henry are both EEs

who knows. what i cant figure out is why we dont have 5 star tackles knocking down our door. We are crazy good at developing great offensive linemen and its a position of need. you would think we would have t beat them off with a stick.

I think it's Stoutland. Most O linemen want a good rapport with their O line coach and for whatever reason Stoutland doesn't wow people on the trail or on campus visits. Hell, even Pendry's crusty old arse was able to impress some kids

You realize Stoutland got Seantrel Henderson to Miami?

First of all, Seantrel sucks. Secondly, never would have happened if it weren't for USC probation and whatever happened with OSU. Thirdly, .....hookers and cigarette boats got Seantrel to Miami

If we don't get him, we almost have to pull for him to end up at FSU. That would help with Golson (provided UNC doesnt steal him).

I believe specific position coaches, especially OL coaches, technical ability vastly outweighs the ability to recruit in importance. It's really rare if an OL Coach is a good recruiter in general. They'll rack up a few lineman, but you don't see them getting Recruiter of the Year often.

Stoutland gives Bama connections to Miami and the Northwest, but there has to be interest to use him there. But again, his ability to coach outweighs any other thing he does as a coach.

I've seen him in person once, and my impression was he is a very dry, hard arse type coach. You aren't gonna get many chest bumps out of him...

Agreed. He's a good position coach. Ungood recruiter.

Our Oline class is pretty good at the moment, but Tunsil would certainly be the standout. FSU bound

Telling you guys, he's an UGA Dawg. Might as well start saving his money for license reinstatement fees.
