That's what is being floated. I'm not even sure who it could be. All the kids who visited for the Miss St game aren't deciding any time soon.

Mama Nkemdiche loves her some Bama:
“I’ve never been to Clemson. I’ve not talked to anybody from Clemson’s team," Beverly told the AJC. "I don’t want to go there because that’s out of my way. There is nothing that would take me there. What took me to Ole Miss was Denzel. I haven’t been to any other school. Honestly, if Denzel was not at Ole Miss, I wouldn’t have gone to Ole Miss. My No. 1 team is Alabama. That’s one school I truly love, Alabama. But I don’t have child in Alabama to take me to Alabama. But my son is in Mississippi at Ole Miss. That’s what took me to Mississippi. So I’m not going to travel all over the place just to talk to coaches."
Beverly said she has been impressed with the success the Crimson Tide is having on the field this season and has a good relationship with Nick Saban and the Alabama coaching staff.
“Alabama has a good football team. And they’re solid. They have good academics. Right now, they are undefeated. And I’ve stayed in stayed in touch with their coach on Facebook. He is a good person. I like the school but again, I would prefer for Denzel and Robert to play together.”
The mother of the elite five-star player also said that while she strongly prefers Alabama over Clemson, she has yet to visit either school in person.
"Clemson is out of the way for me. There is nothing that would take me there. It’s not like it’s a bad school or whatever. I haven’t been to Alabama either. I love Alabama but I haven’t been there and visited the school."

No player is worth working your roster around to accomodate his wants. We've done fine without Keenan Allen, and will if Nkemdiche goes elsewhere. Not to say I don't want him here, but Bama's catered to the prima donna crowd before (Shula) and it sets bad precedent and can cause division on the team.

This!
Did people really want freaking Zac Maynard on the roster taking up space? I love how when Bama misses on a player or two, people come out the woodwork thinking the program will fall into the bottomless pit. Would love to have had Clowney, but I think we are doing a little ok w/o him.

Denzel is actually a good player though, and he would have gotten more D1 offers if not for his terrible grade situation. Keenan Allen's brother is a shitty androgynous looking QB who was 3rd string at the worst football program in the country. The two situations are nothing alike. In the first, you'd just be taking a flier on a good player who may or may not qualify. In the second, you'd be taking a guy who isn't even an FCS caliber player just to get his talented brother.

Yea but if you do it for one you have to do it for all kids. Obviously nobody knew that Denzel what be good also we dont play guys his size at LB like Ole Miss does.

And in both, you'd be having a player trying to dictate who you feel fits the team. I don't care how good a player is, if the staff isn't interested in his buddy for whatever reason and he won't come because of that, then good luck where he decides to go. It's refreshing to see the program be successful and players all on the same page and no infighting or division in the program. Playing politics for certain players is a recipe for disaster down the road, imho.

I will admit that I was wrong. I thought he was a scrub, but now he obviously could be a contributor at Alabama (besides just bringing his younger brother). Sounds weird - but kinda reminds me of a black Sunseri.

I remember watching his film and thinking "God, this kid can play!" and getting him would have locked up Rob. He has the genetics and his film was great.
I didn't really want Maynard/Allen, but my whole thing is if you're going to offer a scrub then at least have it be worth something. We've offered a few scrubs here and there that EVERYONE knew would never play. If you're going to do that, then give those spots to the Maynard types....especially if they have a chance to contribute like Denzel, Issac Luatua, Arie Koundjio, etc.

This makes no sense. Robert and Denzel aren't the same age. There was never any indication that they were a package deal prior to recently anyway. Are you saying that it was just happenstance that the staff was interested in Arie Kouandjio and Isaac Luatua, and the fact that they have immensely talented younger brothers was a mere coincidence? Not that Arie and Isaac are bad players, but you would be naive as frick to think that the staff didn't have Cyrus and Tyler in mind. And how do you explain Wilson Love getting a scholarship? Hell...we knew his brother would never play a meaningful down when he signed it.

I had a brainfart. Thought you were talking about his buddy that got offered by Clemson.
There's a difference in the staff making a decision on their part to entice someone to come and a player dictating to the staff what they need to do to get them to come.

Bama recruiting any FBs or H-backs? Not sure which way Nuss is going with the offense but it appears Bama has neither on the roster presently. Do get Fowler back next year, but still.......

Maybe I'm naive, but I think Arie and Isaac would both be on the roster if neither had siblings. But it's not exactly a coincidence either. Genetics play a large part in athletic ability so talented older siblings tend to have talented younger siblings. Plus, Tyler Luatua hadn't even played his 9th grade season when Isaac committed. I know we're scouting kids younger and younger nowadays, but I doubt an 8th grade TE from California is what led us to recruit Isaac.
