Another day, another Mets pitcher gives up 5 runs (this time it was one of their $40mil men) and another Braves win! This season is starting on a great note.

Btw, great job by Dodd on his debut. STL isn’t a bad lineup

Braves sweep the Cardinals.
5-1 road trip to start the season.
Home opener tomorrow night vs San Diego Padres.
Young pitchers Dodd/Elder pitched great.

It's going to be fricking hilarious if Verlander and Scherzer both finally fall victim to father time in the same season.

Frank the Tank will lose his damn mind. He is already going crazy after 7 games. I’d hate to be a T-shirt or a pair of glasses right now

And Snit’s 1000th game. Hate that Strider no longer up for the win after giving up the 3-run HR and the bullpen giving up the 4-3 lead 3 pitches later.

Huge comeback win!!! Chop on!

Hope Money Mikey is ok and a little concerned about all the IL (McHugh today).

Wright got knocked around at Gwinnett yesterday but Soroka was decent on Tuesday. Need to get those guys and Max back soon!

You could argue we went from possibly the worst Home Field Advantages at Turner in Baseball to the absolute best In Baseball in Truist

Tough loss tonight, had plenty of chances. I’m not sure I like Ozzie at cleanup. Wish Travis had DH’d and hit 4th again, then he would have been up with bases juiced and 1 out instead of Albies (who struck out).

I expect Shuster’s going to get sent down soon and replaced with either Wright or possibly even Soroka (although probably don’t want to rush either of them).

I'm looking forward to Soroka's next start.
He did alright a few days ago.

Half the team is on IL, 3 of our 5 starters are AAA pitchers, the next few weeks are just trying to keep our head above water.

May need some bullpen help and possibly a frontline starter at the trade deadline if we really want to go for the Series this year.

For reference,

Murphy (only playing every other game) hitting .150
Rosario hitting .160
Ozuna hitting .074

Meanwhile, Swanson is hitting .375 and Contreras is at .308.

Arcia is at .316, so, that's a positive but would have been nice to use the money from not signing Swanson and trading Contreras for someone that actual helped the team. Sure would like a left fielder that hit better than me or a solid pitcher right now.

It’s a long season, Murphy is 2-4 tonight so far with 2 doubles and is infinitely better than Contreras on defense. It might take Murphy a bit to settle in (Olson didn’t get there until late last year).

Left field and DH (without Travis) are black holes right now. But I’d still take a frontline starter at the deadline over everything else. Front line starters that can win you 2 games in every playoff series are crucial to winning the Series.

It worked. Sweet.

No, great to see. We need him to be big.

Or….he might hit a walk off 2 run HR in extra innings 10 min later?!?!?!

Arcia has a higher batting avg, more RBIs, and more homers than Dansby through 11 games, and he only makes $2.43m/season.

have been very happily surprised with Arcia and great to see Murphy come through. We needed that. Keep grinding and get healthy, boys.
