It is crazy I am still pissed about the Jansen blown save after this month
. I want to be 2 games back. They just would not get off that high fast ball with 2 strikes to that one guy with 2 outs. Put it somewhere else in the zone before going back to it!
Ok hope Jansen feels better and the Braves keep rolling, great month of June.

I mean that was definitely one of those you look back on in September when you're either up or down a game or two in the standings and really wish you had back. I'd have been less angry about it if someone had gotten on base and then they tied it up with a HR. 3 straight hits, none of them even solid contact, plus the freebie stolen bases was just a kick in the plums.

Another Strider masterpiece. 11k's
Dansby 3 more hits.
Riley with a bomb and 2 hits.
2.5 out from the Mets.

I've been too busy to post lately, but have managed to keep up with the team in the evenings; a few observations:
1. Will the real Dansby Swanson please stand up ? Is this who he is, or is he going absolutely balls out in a contract year to make sure we end up in a nightmare contract ?
I like to think he has progressed, and matured into a guy that is finally playing at that No.1 pick level, but when he is off he is so bad it makes the prospect of a mega contract scary AF.
However he's so locked in right now, and his approach at the plate is what you wish you could bang into every big leaguers head- up the middle/right field, and trusting his hands to turn on the inside stuff... It's been nothing short of miraculous watching his turn around this season. Dude is top 20 in all of MLB in WAR. I will say this- I like Dansby and it's easy to see his teammates like him. He's easy to pull for so I hope he has finally arrived.
2. Adam Duvall - You would think at this point in his career he could figure out how to have a more professional approach at the plate but the fact of the matter is he is a swing hard and hope for contact kinda guy.
3. Snitker has no idea how to manage a bullpen. This horse has been beaten so I'm gonna leave it but if his plan is to run Will Smith out there to close games again then I'll have to turn the game off, and check the score after 30 minutes or so to see if he blew it or not.
4. Will Smith - Fvck that guy
5. Michael Harris - Love this kid, and love his game. Why is it so hard to find ballplayers like this these days ? With Acuna out not sure how he didn't break camp with the team, but hopefully that six weeks of the bad news bears in the OF wont cost us a playoff spot by 1 game.
6. Matt Olson - My only gripe with Olson is his stance, and his swing slot. First, how he gets his hands back from where they begin, and then get through the zone in any kind of consistently successful way - I dont get it.
Meanwhile, the slump that he seems to be pulling out of now seemed self imposed with his ridiculous launch angle on his swing, and seemingly swinging in the exact same slot no matter where the baseball was. Did anyone notice this ? Anyhow at .250 he is a cleanup hitter, and should be protecting Riley not the other way around until Olson takes the next step in his game. IMO
7. All your stolen bases are belong to acuna now
8. Miss ablies
9. Matzek not the same guy. topped out at 93 mph after two months off... concerning.
10. Starting pitching has been holding up, and Soroka expected back after all star break.
11. Who is more cringy Brian Jordan or Jeff Francouer ? Serious question.

Brian Jordan is 100x more cringy. I like him in the outfield show they broadcast but not in the booth. He's like the guy that gets the joke a few seconds after everyone else and states the obvious constantly.
Will Smith is not pitching that bad. He's given up 2 runs in his last 12 appearances (Braves 11-1 in those games).
Goss/Arcia are hitting as well as Albies at this point. Probably won't last but they aren't hurting us (yet).
Harris didn't break camp with the team because he had less than 200 games in the minors. If this team doesn't make the playoffs, a bunch of shite went wrong other than Harris not getting called up earlier.
Snit managed a bullpen to a ring last year.
25 of the last 32. Settle down.

The Will Smith Experience is usually effective, but it's also the most painful scoreless (more often than not) inning in the history of the world. Count on 1-2 walks on average, most hitters getting to full counts. and more than 25 pitches almost EVERY TIME. It's stressful and maddening.

It's would be so bad if the pitch selection was consistently strike, ball way outside, stir, ball way outside, ball way outside, then no real idea. But every at bat Snitker utilizes a minor league strategy of trying to get hitters to chase, and most of the time, the pitches are not close enough to even do that. Will Smith is not consistent enough to be constantly put in positions where he has to throw a strike.

that can't really be argued either.
Let's go Max. Win this series!
25-7
I'm like a month away from telling my father the Braves poor start has ruined my summer. I'm a grown man.

Yep started almost the day Harris was called up, and solidified the outfield defense, allowed Dansby to move up in the order, and provided a spark at the bottom of the lineup. This team did not turn things around until Harris was called up.

That's another winner.
Another Fried masterpiece.
Great to see Rosario go deep. Seems he's back.

And the Reds give up 5 runs to the Mets in the 10th.

Reds starting pitching is okay.
Their bullpen is awful.
Mets/Braves next Monday night.

The Reds bullpen is a raging, shite filled dumpster fire.

Schedule sets up well for Braves to finish first half in first place. Hopefully we don't run outta gas- dont think there's another day off before ASG

Gosselin looks like an amateur baseball player so hopefully the Braves can figure out a better situation soon.

Smith has been terrible. His ERA is extremely deceptive. His FIP is horrendous. His WHIP is horrendous. His batted ball profile is horrendous. No relief pitcher with an ERA under 4 should ever be a below replacement level player, but Will Smith has found a way. At least we will always have his perfect 2021 postseason, but I cannot wait to never see him in a Braves jersey again.
