So... when you have a player batting nearly .500, and they have 2 rbi thanks to 2 solo HRs what do you do ?
Somewhat related, Braves have something like 16 HRs this year and 15 of them are solo shots.

Last night was a fun game. I’m paying for it this morning. Fried was dominant. Kenley Jansen gets freeman out to win the game. Love to see it.

Always nice beating Buehler.

I LOVE watching Dansby ignore an entire vacated side of the field so he can power pull the ball into the shift for a double play - you know because Dansby is a 40+ HR 100+ RBI POWER PULL HITTER

Should Eddie get a pass in the month of Apr given his postseason last year? Sure, we’ll give him a pass this time. But he better be ready to RAKE starting in May!!!

Braves finally gave up on Sean Newcomb. Designated for assignment and traded him to the Cubs for Jesse Chavez.

In hindsight, Coppolella was actually a pretty mediocre GM even setting aside his international signings scandal.

I hate to say it but I think Dansby probably needs to be playing simulated games or maybe spend some time in the minors so he can find his swing without embarrassing himself to this degree. Let Arcia play SS while he is swinging the bat well.
I dont understand not bringing Joc back. We let our rabbits foot walk out the door over 6 mil - meanwhile having a huge need for a quality bench bat / outfielder... does not compute IMO. The franchise is operating with the "now is our window" mentality, but you let Joc walk over 6 mil and ride into '22 with Alex Dickerson and Heredia ? Oof
This Alex Dickerson bullshite is embarrassing.
Will Smith finally being FAR removed from high leverage situations has helped my blood pressure. Jansen being around the strike zone with that cutter is starting to look like a good addition. The inability of major league pitchers to throw strikes is astonishing to me. The only thing more shocking in todays game is the inability of a major league hitter to guide a ball through an entirely vacated side of the field. Can you imagine any team from 30-100 years ago sitting in the stands watching a modern day game ?

Dickerson has been one of the most unlucky players in all of MLB so far.
Posted on 4/22/22 at 12:11 pm to Robot Santa
Dickerson has hit 6 of 16 batted balls hard and has 1 hit. His expected OPS is .761 (vs .045).
Per statcast he is by far the most unlucky hitter in baseball so far - BA of .045 vs xBA of .252 (-.207). Next worst is Kyle Tucker of Houston at -.186.
Albies xBA is .295, hitting .218 (-.077).
The only 2 guys who are getting "lucky" are barely that
Matt Olson - BA .400 vs xBA of .364 (+.036)
Travis d'Arnaud - BA .297 vs xBA of .269 (+.028)
Unfortunately Dansby and Eddie are both a little bit unlucky and also actually terrible.

Yep. Between Dickerson and Ozzie having godawful luck and Dansby and Eddie being fricking horrible so far it's no small wonder that our offense is basically solo HR or bust. If your 1, 7, 8, and 9 hitters aren't producing then there's no one ever on base for the top of the order to drive in and no one to drive them in when they get on themselves.
A lot of this will be solved when Ronald comes back and we can move Ozzie down to 6th/7th and make Ozuna the primary DH.

Arcias number are worth watching over the next month. He's hitting the shat of the ball right now and his numbers every bit legit.
He's hitting balls in the zone more, chasing less and swinging at 1st pitches way less. He's had some decent offensive years, so he's capable of being above average. It may be a mirage but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

I don't think Arcia is a guy you can play every day unfortunately. It will be interesting to see where we spend this winter. If they offer Dansby an extension it'll be really team friendly, and that's only if he gets back on track and produces his typical slightly below league average performance at the plate. The two big names are going to be Turner and Correa obviously, but you'll have to bring a $300+ million check to the bargaining table to sign either of them and that would make it pretty unlikely that we can extend Fried.

No definitely not everyday for Arcia, but being a bench guy you feel ok about sending up there to hit 1 game a week would be nice.
As for Dansby, I have no idea what to do. He annoys the shite out of me, but we aren't going to spend the money required for Correa/Turner. At that point you have to figure out the secondary SS options and money and see how it fits.
The Dansby offensive enigma is just frickin maddening.

Good for him. Textbook AAAA player. Crushes in AAA, can't hit in MLB.

He’s a less offensive prone Jeff Blauser. If that’s possible.
I just remember Blauser being a black hole in the 1995 lineup. But he had some decent seasons at the plate for the Braves.
