If Brett Favre did not have the health issues with concussions that he has had, no way would he have backed away from a confrontation with Gastineau. My money would have been on Brett to kick Gastineau arse.

Records are made to be broken! It is better to be a has been than a never was! A broken record never erases a prior record! lol! Somebody needs to give the great Gastineau a lesson on class!

Brett Favre did well here. Should bode well against his welfare robbery.

Man is just a capitalist who got caught...

Brett did a superb job in handling that confrontation. Also, I just watched the play and there’s no way he could have avoided Strahan.

It would have been hilarious if Favre had told him to go grow a sack.

I think the guy belongs in the HOF but there should be a condition that he not be allowed to speak once they put the gold jacket on him.

In 1991, Gastineau began a career in boxing, lasting five years. In his first fight, Gastineau knocked out Derrick Dukes in the first round. Dukes, a professional wrestler, later admitted he took a dive.

Brett made a sincere post on social media. You can tell how genuine a guy Brett is by how he encountered and reacted. Totally caught off guard by Mark yet, allowed him to say what he needed to say. Props to Brett

Of course it was given to Strahan. The game was over and the Packers were up by two scores at the point in the game. There was no reason to not run the ball, the game would`ve been over after a few runs. This is obviously not a good look for Mark, and it makes him look terrible.

fricking boomer bitch. Favre is as well for not telling that retard to go choke on a chainsaw.

Wasnt there a reality show in the mid to late 2000s. The Gastineaus or something. I just remember his daughter Brittany was hot as frick.

A man (maybe 2) whose identity got lost in his role. That sack record defined him (in his eyes)
Sad to see

So what if it was staged? Get over it Mark!

Memory from watching the play says Brett could have absolutely tried to escape the sack, but he most likely would have been sacked. He turned right into Strahan's face who was coming right at him.

In that play, where else would Favre have gone? You have to assume he rolled into the open area knowing Strahan was there to just lay down. He turn and he sees him and lays down before getting laid out. That’s a common thing for QBs to not take the hit. Not saying something was up but that what I see in the film.

His teammates hated him. He had a terrible reputation and refused to play any run D whatsoever. He only cared about pass rush. It’s why he’s not in the HOF.

I feel for the guy, IDK what the context of the play where Brett caved was, end of game or what have you, but he was certainly just giving it up.

But we have Gastineau to thank for the sack dance and the Griddy and every other ridiculous dance on the field nowadays. HE started that shitt!

Never heard of Billy "White Shoes" Johnson have you? He played in the NFL 4 years earlier than Gastineau and was doing TD dances.

Yet, I'm not certain even he started it.
