Paul Finebaum Was Asked If This Year's National Champion Will Be ‘Legitimate’
© Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
During Thursday morning’s edition of ESPN's Get Up, college football analyst Paul Finebaum was asked if the national champion for the 2020 season will be considered “legitimate.” His answer...
quote:

“Yes. And even though I’ve labored on this, in the year 2020, there is no normal – there’s no, ‘Well it’s different than it used to be.’ If you play for a championship and you win, you’re going to claim the championship and the Big Ten and the Pac-12 can say it’s not fair but they haven’t really competed very well in the championship anyway.”

Do you agree?

If you've got the trophy and you've got the ring its legitimate.

If you're the best team in the country, that is currently playing football, then you're the national champion. The SEC doesn't sponsor Water Polo or Men's Volleyball, does that discredit the national champions in those sports?

You can dislike the snarky Finebaum (and I do), but he is right.

This year's champ will be more legitimate than all declared champs prior to the playoffs, in which "journalists" that never played football voted on most popular.

Ohio State is the only other team with a prayer anyways. Too bad they are Democrat run and are scared of a 0.002% death rate for 20 year olds.
