Anonymous Coach Bluntly Admits What's Happening In The Transfer Portal
by Larry LeoJanuary 25, 2022

In an interview with Brandon Marcello of 247Sports, an anonymous college football head coach admitted that just about all college football programs have engaged in tampering when it comes to the transfer portal...
quote:
“Everybody is tampering. We all do it,” the anonymous coach said, per Marcello. “At this point it’s like going 65 mph in a 55. What are you going to do with it? But there need to be parameters. NFL free agency starts and ends on certain dates, and we need to do that with the portal. That’s No. 1. They have to protect the kids from themselves and make it fair for our rosters because it’s impossible the way it is set up today.”

Not really. Schools are tampering with players on other teams. Patterson said this in the fall. He told fans/alums/local businesses that they need to step up with NIL money as lots (SEC) schools are sniffing around TCUs campus. Easy transfer rules and NIL money isnt losing out on traditional recruiting, as a coach shouldn't have to be worrying about a kid that is already in campus.

Eliminating the rule about sitting for a year after transfer is what created this. If you don't make them sit out, make them commit for two years before transferring again-including incoming freshmen.

As far as colleges tampering that statement is funny that someone says that is happening now. University of Kansas laughs at this. They recruited Lester Earl who was playing at LSU when both teams were playing in a tournament in Hawaii.

NFL, start a minor league and quit using state funded universities as your farm league.

Why should the NFL do this? What is in it for the NFL? Why would they spend millions of dollars to develop talent for their business when they colleges are doing for free? The answer isn't the NFL, the answer is the colleges. What ever is to be done has to be done at the college level. You want to force the NFL's hand? eliminate athletic scholarships.

I mean, who didn't know this was going to happen with no rules in place around any of it.
