massive difference. When I take off from work, it doesn't really affect my employer because I can make up the work I missed. Lebron can't ever make up a game he missed and he's leaving his team with a big hole for those games he's absent. I imagine hundreds of other pro athletes miss their kids' games, but such is the life of a pro athlete.
