The robots are taking over!!! Well, at least on the baseball field. MLB commish Robbie Manfred is putting robot umps in all 30 Triple-A ballparks this season...
quote:

"The electronic strike zone will be used in all 30 Class AAA parks in 2023, sources told ESPN, seemingly another significant step toward the implementation of the technology at the big league level in the near future.

The Automatic Balls and Strikes system, commonly referred to as ABS, will be deployed in two different ways. Half of the Class AAA games will be played with all of the calls determined by an electronic strike zone, and the other half will be played with an ABS challenge system similar to that used in professional tennis."
I wish the NBA could default to something like this with the terrible referring going on.

If you put one of these in for the NBA, every superstar would get called for 20 carries / travels per game.

Why stop with the officials? Pretty sure you could program robots to drop out of college, waste money on jewelry, and beat up their girlfriends.

And yet, Angel Hernandez will still find a way to make his sorry arse the most impactful part of a game.

I can’t believe someone hasn’t taken that dude on a one-way road trip to the desert

So do the umps go and kick dirt onto the camera if they object to the calls?

Gee - not a thing could go wrong with that.
2) It'll never be ready in time.

Interesting to see how this pans out.

Next will be smart balls and bats where the pitchers just toss the ball and it decides what to do and the bat responds when swung.

Screw the human element we’ve survived all these years. Screw this….

Now they need robots to replace 90% of teachers. Get the best teacher in the parish/county to teach her subject live online and put a big screen in every classroom in the parish.

Fire all of the worthless, tax-feeding, brainwashing commie teachers and make America's school system one of the best in the world again.

Well that got off-topic quickly.

Yeah, let's put kids in front of screens watching a good teacher. That'll work.

We lost 20 years of math and reading gains during the Pandemic.

If you wanna talk about school, parents are 90% responsible for their children learning or not learning in school. Nobody wants to take responsibility
