Missouri Declines Independence Bowl Invitation

Missouri athletic director Mack Rhoades released at statement on Monday to explain why the Tigers will be declining an invitation to play in the Independence Bowl.
The Tigers finished the 2015 season with a 5-7 record and were inline for a bowl berth because of their Academic Progress Rate.

I agree that no one wants to see a 5-7 bowl team. Hell, I don't want to see 6-6 or 7-5 bowl teams either - I'd rather the number of bowls cut in half.
But this will cost the SEC some money, since bowl payouts are split among all conference members. That's the only downside, but the payout isn't big so it's actually not a big hit.

SEC should tell them since they had a chance to play in a bowl but declined it then they will not be included in the money split this season.
