SEC presidents voted Monday to delay a decision on a proposed rule that would require players transferring between conference schools to sit out an entire season, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.

The decision comes just days after LSU head coach Lane Kiffin strongly criticized the proposal during his radio show last Thursday.

Kiffin said he "can't imagine a worse decision to make" and argued that the rule would only encourage players to transfer outside the SEC.

"Other conferences would celebrate that rule," Kiffin said.

The SEC previously eliminated its intraconference transfer restriction in 2021. Monday's decision keeps the proposed one-year sit-out rule on hold, though it could be revisited.

SEC presidents also approved a standardized NIL and revenue-sharing contract for all 16 conference schools. The new agreement takes effect immediately and includes sections that individual schools can customize.

The SEC joins the Big Ten as the second power conference to adopt a uniform contract framework for its athletes.

The title reads as if Lane if the only HC that opposes this rule. Surely that's not the case.

Sounds like they are hearing with Lane Kiffin. It would be assinine of Sankey to allow a vote for that rule.

Stinkey delayed the vote because he did a survey and discovered that he didn't have the votes to pass it. Politicians in congress do this all the time. And Stinkey is nothing if not a politician

You mean 'Skankey' right.....LOL

Sankey is a problem but the bigger problem is the SEC chancellors/presidents who control Sankey. They're incredibly out of touch with this sport and it couldn't be more apparent with how they handled LSU. Sankey is just a mouthpiece for them.

Sankey is secretly working for Ohio State, Indiana, and Michigan.

Sankey would love that rule as it will continue to weaken the SEC in favor of the little 10, his true love.
