Former LSU Football star Tyrann Mathieu has reportedly signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, according to Nick Underhill.

The new deal is reported to be worth $13 million. Per NBC Sports.

A New Orleans native, Mathieu signed with the Saints in 2022 after spending three seasons with the Chiefs. He’s played nearly every snap for the team’s defense over the last two years. In 2023, he recorded 75 total tackles with nine passes defensed and four interceptions.

Mathieu, 31, was a third-round pick in 2013 and played his first five seasons with Arizona. he then spent a year with the Texans before heading to Kansas City. He won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs.

Mathieu has 93 passes defensed, 33 interceptions, and four pick sixes in his 11-year career.

13 year career with an ACL & an MCL on one knee and a MCL surgery on the other knee. Dude is only 5’9”. Flat out amazing how tough he is. My fav player of all time at LSU.

Great locker room leadership and solid play elevate the game of the entire team. There is no stat for that. Ask Les Miles. He will tell you his biggest regret is undermining Honey Badger’s leadership. Perhaps the 2011 Championship

He’s been above average both years for the saints. Has had some bad plays but overall he’s been very good and for what it’s worth PFF has loved him.
