Source tells FootballScoop Wednesday night LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes plans to accept the offensive coordinator job at BYU pending formal clearance which is expected in the next 24 hours.

Prior to joining the LSU staff for the 2014 season, Grimes previously coached offensive line at Virginia Tech, Auburn, Colorado, BYU, Arizona State, Boise State and Hardin-Simmons. This will be Grimes first time serving as offensive coordinator at the collegiate level.
Grimes, who has coached the O-Line at LSU since 2014, will replace former offensive coordinator Ty Detmer who was recently dismissed.

Grimes was an offensive line coach at BYU from 2004-2006.

Well, everyone that didn’t like Grimes, you got your wish. I think all things considered, he did a pretty good job. Obviously, so did BYU! I wish him good luck and thanks for being a Tiger!

LSU loses key coaches at the worst times I've ever witnessed. Key talent to.
