New LSU coach Lane Kiffin has reportedly hired Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford for the same role on his staff.

Wolford will replace Brad Davis, who served as LSU's offensive line coach since 2021.

The 54-year-old coach from Youngstown, Ohio, has been an offensive line coach throughout his career, with stops at several SEC schools, including South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, and now LSU.

Wolford was Youngstown State's head coach from 2010 to 2014, going 31-26 in five seasons.

Coaching Career:
1995: Kansas State (GA)
1996: Emporia State (OL)
1997–1999: South Florida (OL)
2000–2002: Houston (OL)
2003: North Texas (OL)
2004–2006: Arizona (OL)
2007–2008: Illinois (OL)
2009: South Carolina (OL)
2010–2014: Youngstown State (HC)
2015–2016: San Francisco 49ers (asst. OL)
2017–2020: South Carolina (OL)
2021: Kentucky (OL)
2022–2023: Alabama (OL)
2024–2025: Kentucky (OL)
2026–present: LSU (OL)

I can’t believe that Kiffin had the nerve to hire this guy without consulting the experts on TD.

Im just glad the disaster that is Brad Davis is gone. It’s hard to imagine the O-line being any worse than this past year.

It wasn't just Brad that was teaching this offensive line. Kelly was helping, and the OC was helping. Everyone who knew anything about offensive line was helping. Yet nothing made them better. That screams talent problem more than coaching.

lol all those guys on our line last year got drafted. You don’t get drafted into the NFL if you don’t have talent. This was 100% coaching. This is the first fire that should’ve been made this season.

"This was 100% coaching"

Didn't those coaches coach the ones that go drafted?

So which is it talent or coaching?

You can't have both or just one to fit your narrative.

He spent two years under Saban...I'd say he is worth a shot

The o-line those years was not good. Shot themselves in the foot time and again.

Kentucky has had one of the worst offensive lines the past couple years. This should pan out well.

Can’t be worse than our O-line over the last 2 years.

Different level of talent he will have to work with. UK just doesn’t recruit well. They spend most of their money on men’s hoops

I found our resident unemployed SEC coach.

Relax guys. If the line is bad next year like it was this year then at some point we have to look at the linemen themselves. These guys were all highly recruited. I trust Kiffin.

I guess he'll also be the highest paid OL coach in the history of OL coaches.

Well from the record, it looks like we'll just have him for a couple years.

If he was so great, why did he go from Bama o-line coach back to Kentucky o-line coach?

He was not retained when Saban retired.

Time coincides with when Saban retired and Deboer took over. Probably not let go for performance as much as new coach bringing in his own staff. Wouldn't read too much into that. Saban thought enough of him to hire him.

Many coaches like to recreate with their own networks not necessarily who is the best hire. Not different than any other profession

Wow. This guy doesn’t stick around very long wherever he goes. I guess he’s talented if CLK hired him. He’s a Tiger now.

Vagabond coach! I hope he was jumping around because he was getting job upgrades, not because he was getting fired or let go. Dude has been at like 15 different schools.

You realize LSU is CLKs 6th Different Head Coaching gig? Sometimes it means their good & sometimes it means they suck arse. Guess well see about this ole boy soon enough wont we?

He has pretty much changed jobs every year for the past 30 years. I’ll have to trust coach Kiffin on this one…
