LSU Ranked 117th In Country In 3rd Down Defense

After the humiliating loss to Ole Miss on Saturday, LSU now has the 117th worst 3rd Down Defense in the country. In five games, LSU's opponents have converted first downs on 32 of 68 attempts (47%). Against Ole Miss, the LSU defense allowed the Rebels to convert 9 out of 16 attempts on 3rd down.

Additionally, Ole Miss converted 2 out of 3 attempts on 4th down. On the season, LSU's opponents have converted 4 out of 6 attempts on 4th down, ranking 100th in that category.

LSU needs a change on defense now, not at the end of the season. An interim DC would be better that what they now have.

Play the right personnel, for starters. Apply performance measures to the players — if you miss an assignment or tackle, you’re on the bench. No position is safe because of seniority.

If that doesn’t work, get a new DC who can scheme with the personnel we have or recruit.
